I cannot see any reason at all WHY ptp would be refused. I will if required to send you or anyone a copy of the title deeds which are in my wife and my name, for you to check out these legal things.

Would it not be in your interests as the "VENDOR"and being aware of resent problems with PTP's, to have this information in place?...Just a thought

That's why I suggested that any prospective buyers have a copy of the deeds to take it to where they can get it checked out, as the vendors we have nothing at all to hide.

Indulge me cyprus1, could you tell me what was the Nationality of the owners of the title deeds of your Bungalow pre 1974 because as I read your post the land your property is built on was owned by English people pre 1974, if so, I assume this would solve a few off putting deed problems regarding the legitimacy of deeds in NC and presumably ptp would be more likely to be granted.

Hi again here is the history of purchasers since 1971 1971 was bought by an English man (Morris Bagg) who had the bungalow built. 1980 was bought by a lady (Eline fahri) who was Irish Then sold to us (English) 1999 and we had the property placed on the kochan. We then left 12 months last Christmas due to health problems. We now leave it to the Cyprus 44 jury.

what is refered to as pre 74 english or foreign title means that the title is not disputed (like pre 74 turkish cypriot title) and there is no requirment for ptp for sale to a non citizen under current laws. As such it is the most valuable title type. Pre 74 turkish cypriot title is not disputed but would require ptp if bought by a non citizen under current laws. at least that is my understanding.

Will have to say it is a beautiful house and at that price it is an absolute bargain, pity I dont have that much spare otherwise I'd of had it.The phrase 'first to see will buy' definately applies here. Hope you and Barbara are well.

Pretty much how I understand it too, I would also say that as the deeds are pre 1974 English it would be extremely unlikey that ptp would be refused unless you had a criminal record or something, but, what do I know? Others here are doing their utmost to put me off buying anything in NC.

Trouble is Roomy, is that there are to many people in the TRNC that have just moved there and think they know everything, you are doing the right thing asking but take every bit of advise with a pinch of salt. Good Luck. Steve.

Roomy Buying property is always a risk. The first property I ever bought, in London, was worth less than the morgage I had taken out to buy it with within 6 months of me buying it. Buying a property overseas increases the risk, as can be seen in spain and RoC and elsewhere. Buying overseas under an admistration not internationaly recognised and where much land ownership is disputed increases the risk again. Having said that the increased risk is largely reflected in the price. Yes buying property in the TRNC is a risky proposition but as well as it being possible that you end up owning an unfished building with a mortgage on the land ownership of which is itself disputed, it is also possible that you end up with a property in the med at a price that you could not get anywhere else and that goes on to appreciate in value more than any other option. It is , like all property a gamble. Certainly there are things you can do to reduce risk to some degree but its still a gamble.

There are also people that have recently moved here that were told blatant lies......I wish you luck with your sale...Taking all advice with a pinch of salt is the same as not taking any if one contradicts the other

Roomy - I know of a couple with a clean police check who have been waiting for ptp on a pre 1974 British Title property for two years and have now been told it has been turned down. All deeds since about 2007 have been classed as TRNC title, whatever their origin, so ptp is required. I would suggest you speak to Marian Stokes of the Home Buyer Pressure Group. She will be able to tell you the true situation.

Steve and Barbara used to run the TRNC Information MSN forum a few years ago. That was at the point hundreds of gullible people were being sucked in to buying knock-off property. They then seemed to do a disappearing act. Could be a different Steve and Barbara, of course.

Steve. if you are not prepared to tell the truth that you are Steve Harris and are the one selling your property on this forum, what else are you hiding. Come clean, otherwise prospective would be buyers might think what else are you trying to hide.Honesty is the best policy. Trying to distance yourself from your old mate Gary Robb now?

"Health problems" seems to crop up all the time. But being resident outside the UK for so many years would lose your entitlement for NHS treatment. Unless the health problem is back strain from pocketing tens of thousands of pounds in kick-backs from Gary Robb and other criminal associates. In which case surely a private osteopath can be afforded?

I heard 'that' Steve and Barbara won the lottery and emigrated to New Zealand. We were almost sucked in by them too. They took us to meet Gary Robb and his mum Mavis in Catalkoy in 2003. He also promised us a 'FREE' swimming pool!!! So lucky we decided not to.
