President Dervis Eroglu of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) said the report Ban Ki-moon sent to the UN Security Council was "balanced", and at first glance, TRNC could not say it had complaints about the report.

Nicosia, 4 March 2011 -- The leaders of the Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot communities met at the UN Protected Area here this afternoon for just over an hour and a half discussing issues pertaining to governance and power-sharing, one of the six chapters being negotiated in the UN-backed talks aimed at reunifying the divided island.

Following the meeting, Lisa M Buttenheim, the Special Representative of the Secretary-General in Cyprus, announced that the leaders would next meet on Wednesday, 9 March, and their Representatives on Tuesday and Friday, the 8th and 11th.

Earlier in the day, the report of Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon was issued which takes stock of progress made in the talks since late November to date. Among other things, Mr Ban calls on the parties to reach convergences on the outstanding core issues in the current negotiations as soon as possible and to take practical steps in that regard.
