Radio is reporting that there is a stand off between police and a man threatening to blow himself up at Terminal 5 at Heathrow (LHR).



The events are occuring in the check in area of the terminal.



There may be significant disruption to operations at T5 and other parts of LHR.

"(Reuters) - British police said on Thursday a security alert at London's Heathrow Airport was over and a cordon at Terminal 5 had been lifted.

A spokesman for London's Metropolitan Police said the incident had involved a suspect package which turned out to be nothing sinister. He said he believed there had been no arrests.

Earlier Sky News had said the building had been cleared after what it said was a stand-off with a man who had been threatening to blow himself up"
