This will be a very well contested game. The visitors, Unicorns RFC, winners of Guzelyurt & Lefke 7's Tournament and captained by Gav Shelton (man of that tournament) will be looking to lead his team to a further victory. One man doesn't make a team but supported by a string of Fijians and a squad of strong fit players from both hemispheres the scene is set for some fast open rugby. Look out for winger Drew Taylor a young man with serious wings on his boots and in the centre Rawamila the 'Rotund Fijian Flier'

Whilst the Girne Pumas RFC lead by team captain Sam Butcher will be after a reversal of roles on their home turf. The Pumas have been training hard for this game and Butcher with his gritty, no nonsense style of play will be determined his men give their utmost. The Pumas squad supported by 5 players from Guzelyurt & Lefke's Warriors will most certainly be up for challenge. Look out for the new boy GAU student making his debut at loose head prop Firat Lacin. Don't miss out!

Do you have any fixtures between 24/3 - 2/4? We will be on holiday during this period and would love to watch a game.

Guzelyurt & Lefke RUFC have something in the wings but I am awaiting confirmation.

Check out our website from time to time for confirmation, I'm sorry I can't give you any thing more accurate at the moment.

WarriorsRUFC, what a lovely write up, we missed this match, unfortunately,

but look forward to the next one.

Keep up the good work,

Final score Girne Pumas RFC 5 Unicorns RFC 62 which sounds extremely one sided but the play was fairly well balanced. The Pumas scrum and line out work was good and not at all dominated by the UN but they were lacking in mid field.

By contrast the Unicorns played a very open game moving the ball wide and making the best use of their backs whose ball handling and off loads were superb. Because of the space they created by this they were able to finish the majority of their attacks successfully. The young winger Drew Taylor was a delight to watch, his change of pace and direction belied that fact that he is a newcomer to the game. All told a good afternoons rugby.
