The Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs Ahmet Davutoğlu had reiterated that a comprehensive solution in Cyprus will not only benefit the two sides in Cyprus but will serve to improve relations between Turkey and Greece as well as bring peace and stability to the region.



The Turkish Foreign Minister evaluated Turkish-Greco relations and touched upon the Cyprus Problem in his article published in the Greek Kathimerini newspaper

Expressing the view that a solution to the Cyprus Problem will be beneficial for everyone in the region, Davutoğlu said that both Turkey and Greece needed to make the best use of the current opportunity.



“We must extend a helping hand to the two parties currently trying to negotiate a comprehensive solution to the Cyprus Problem” he said.

Davutoğlu pointed out that the support of the guarantor powers was crucial for the current process to reach a successful end.



He said that both Turkey and Greece had an historical responsibility towards preparing both the two peoples’ in Cyprus and their respective countries towards a solution.
