All time favourite film I could not choose one it depends on my mood, Lilli's choices are good and I enjoy anything with Tom Hanks & Julia Roberts.

Romance - Nottinghill & Pretty woman

Gripping - Conspiracy thoery & Bone collector

Feel good - Wonderful life & Phenomenon

Musical - Mumma Mia & King & I

Comedy - Whole nine yards & Something about Mary ( still waiting for the comedy to make me laugh out loud)

Tear jerker - Green mile , Armageddon and of course Angels with dirty faces

Miscellaneous - Sixth sense - The Patriot

True stories - Rabbit proof fence & boy in blue striped pyjamas

I could go on and on I just love a good film

'The Thomas Crown Affair' starring Steve McQueen & Faye Dunaway. With intrigue, a bank robbery and that sultry, sexy chess scene between Steve and Faye, it turned out to be a classic.

'The Sting'

and

'Paint Your Wagon' - for a great laugh

Films that changed my perception...

Midnight Express... never thought I would sympathise with a drug smuggler.. although I don't identify with his desire to smuggle drugs... you still want him to make good his escape.

Avatar - for opening my eyes and making me see another whole world with a lovely bit of US imperialism thrown in for good measure.

That dinner at the end of film where they are sitting there trying to have a civilised meal as a war rages about them................it sums up the British at there best compared to the rest of the world.

I hate this type of thread which shows a lack of imagination and local knowledge by the instigator......However seeing as I am here, I just have to tell you that you are ALL completely wrong. The greatest film ever, is without doubt and beyond argument....ZULU.........

Highlander

Life Of Brian

Blues Brothers

Most James Bond movies

Jurassic Park (1) simply because I watched the film first and then read the book. I had a dream of the film and my mind put in all the bits that were missed in the film. Brilliant dream.

Shawshank Redemption

One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest

Midnight Cowboy

Schindler's List (book, Schinder's Ark is also brilliant)

Leaving Las Vegas (if you're feeling suicidal)

An Affair to Remember

Sophie's Choice (again, a great book)

Midnight Express

See, you can go on and on, because someone makes a choice and it reminds you of what a great film 'this' was or 'that' was.

All good fun and I think it's interesting to see others' points of view on music, film, etc.
