I have just Moved into Ozankoy to what i thought was a most wonderful area we have visited on several occasions and always been welcomed with a smile, no matter where we went, until Sunday and then the illusion was spoiled, and what makes it realy bad is it was in our own Village,we decided to have a couple of drinks in Liasons as we had been in it when we first came over, over a year ago, then there was a large jovial chap with a big smile, Now its Mr Miseryin his pink T shirt we asked for two drinks twice and were ignored then he just sat down and didnot do any thing when i inquired at the bar i was told he was in charge, well MR MISERY YOU HAVE JUST LOST TWO CUSTOMERS.

PS We went over the road to the old mill and and our Faith was restored, shame it only take one to spoil it.

Give him the benefit of the doubt Teaser. He may be deaf as previously said, or he may just have been having a really bad day. Go and see him and talk to him about your complaint. There may be a genuine reason for him seemingly ignoring you. After all you have just moved into the village, and I would imagine don't want to cross too many venues off your list.

Must say, we also live in Catalkoy and went there over summer. The atmosphere was not good when we went as if it was as if locals who knew each other got on and thats it.

We had our child and were made to feel unwelcome with her.

We too went over to the mill and had a great time and will for sure be back there.

Steve is the Manager and works 12 to 14 hours a day running Liaisons and The Butchers Shop in Ozankoy. You probebly caught him on a break, having a coffee and contemplating the meaning of life!

It is usually very hectic on Sundays with staff preparing and serving Sunday Roasts.

Anyway is it really too difficult to walk ten paces to the bar to order drinks?

Enjoy life in Cyprus and in Ozankoy and learn to 'chill'

Whatever problems a business is having in terms of customer service at a particular moment in time is their problem not the customers. The customer is buying goods and as such, has a reasonable expectation that they will have good service.

If a business cannot overcome the problem at that time then all that needs to be done is to communicate with the customer, apologise and advise them when they will be served. Alternatively (in these circumstances) advise them that, if they come to the bar they can be served more quickly. The customer can then decide whether they stay or go. It's not rocket science! To ignore them is insane! Customers will be lost as evidenced by this thread.

This is absurd. How can you run a business and not serve the customers? You either want to be in business or you don't. Looks like the latter in this case.

The thing is, Liaisons keeps the cost of its meals and drinks lower than other places because they operate with minimal staff and do not have waiter service which you pay for in other places. There are many customers who travel long distances to come to Liaisons in particular. If you were not happy, why did you not approach Steve and tell him instead of posting on a web site, how can he improve services if he is not made aware of complaints?

alibop, I'm sure someone who has read this thread and knows the owner would have enlightened him. Perhaps he would like to respond on here and give his version.

Has anyone thought that he may not even have a computer, or indeed with the hours he works, he would not even have the time anyway!!!!!!!!!!!

That's their problem, not the customers. This all basic stuff from a customer service point of view.

It's a question of balance. You lower the customer's expectation because of cost or lack of resources, you have less customers. Alternatively you do the opposite. Perhaps they have chosen the former, so fair enough.

Isn’t warning people of below par-establishments helping people?

Its no different to what you would do in England if you went somewhere and it wasn’t very good- you tell all your friends!

The sad thing about all this, is, if it was TC joint, it would have ended with one post.

biglugs. In response to your message 16; Teaser did go there and he did judge, hence his post. He's only stating what happened to him. No one is having cheap shots at anyone, we are just giving opinions. Like you.

Sorry Turbo, can you clarify? Do you mean Liaisons isn’t owned by a TC and if it was people wouldn’t complain ?

Have you been there? I've just come back from there and I can tell you that the regular customers who go there are more than any other establishment in the village. What we also have to remember is that this is not Britain and the village is not a holiday resort.

No1Doyan,

Have you been there?all im saying is that until youve tried it dont knock it,you cant please all of the people ALL of the time,if the person who started this thread was so unhappy maybe he/she should go back to the UK,one bad experiance does not make Ozankoy or Liasions a bad illusion!!!!!!!!!it does appear there are people on here who thrive on such posts,TRY it then pass comment

biglugs, if you have just come back from there you must have told the owner what Teaser has said. What was the owners response?

My question is this. Is it possible to post a comment upon this or any other TRNC board without courting sarcastic responses?

The people told of their experience, others have a different point of view. My own visits to bars in Ozankoy have been good and Liaissons is the best (in my opinion) by far.

newboy7, but this is what happens on these forums, people will form an opinion and state there case. Apart from the original poster there has not been a bad comment from anyone, just opinions that's all. Liaisons is probably a good place to have a drink but one guy has had a bad experience and said so on here.Sometimes The responses are not always as people want them to be..everyone has a different opinion.

Why should I? I have not complained, this is my argument, people posting complaints on the forum and not telling the person directly. How can services be improved if these managers etc are not told directly?

I agree with you biglugs. Teaser should really have spoken to the owner and asked him why he had refused to serve him.

Come on everybody can't you see it's a wind up !! Look at his profile !! John Thomas and his handle is teaser . Come on wake up and smell the coffee !

Haven't you noticed he hasn't replied yet ?

People like him are rife throughout these sort of forums , they are there for the wind up. and he has done what he wanted to do and got you bickering between yourselves !!

He probably has a gripe against this guy and sees this is a way at getting back at him. Ignore it !!!!!!!!

Big Lugs; I understand where your coming from but agree with No1Doyen, surely having an opinion on a place and telling other people isnt that bad?

Went there last night with some friends, quite a number of people there, everyone appeared to be getting served with no problems and there was a good atmosphere there.

Perhaps he wasn't served because he didn't look 18 & the barman was waiting for his ID card....
