Who if any bars will be showing all of the Royal Wedding on the 29th April. I would have thought that it was a perfect opportunity for a ladies champagne luncheon get together?

Yes, the Waterfront at the Celebrity in Lapta will be showing the wedding. We're planning a seaside "street party", with a big lunch, games and entertainment with DJ Pete and his disco/karaoke. All this and the wedding showing on five 50" plasmas as well as on a cinema screen in three rooms - so plenty of space for all (and the sea terrace for those looking to escape!).

I have a mental picture of the Celebrity's terrance being packed, with people arguing over places to sit No, of course that isn't true - only old grumps like Rigsby, kaiserphil and myself. J

Jean That's twice in a week, is Paul mistreating you!! I think it would be a very good time to book an overseas holiday as many would wish to stay at home to celebrate(?) so the holiday firms will be discounting like mad. Richard

So, for those who want to watch the royal Wedding, who is showing it, preferably without street party/karaoke, perhaps it could be used as a charity fund raiser, best hat or whatever to raise much needed funds for various charities.

Rigsby / Kaiser Phil Whilst I totally agree that some members of the Royal family have acted shamefully, I think your sweeping statement about the 'parasites at Buck House' does not do you credit - the Queen and her husband are the only permanent royal residents at that palace - he incidentally served with bravery and distinction during WW2. The yound man getting married next month has also taken the time to serve his country (as a Search & Rescue pilot) and his best man (his brother) has served his country in Afghanistan too. I can assure you that (for me at least) indicates they are willing to put something back... even if it's their duty (you of course have a choice). I for one wish William all the best on the day and will be raising a glass to the happy couple.

I think the Royal family, as an institution, brings in more foreign money as a tourist attraction than it costs the exchequer. Richard

How glad I am that we don't get UK TV or read UK papers. I gather it's been wall to wall coverage for weeks now. I can't imagine anything worse than sitting for hours in front of a TV watching it all. I used to be a total Royalist but not anymore (other than the Queen of course) Tango1

Brinsley - "I think the Royal family, as an institution, brings in more foreign money as a tourist attraction than it costs the exchequer." Do you really think that? Based on what? I took a party of Germans to London recently, and they were not interested in the Royal Family.

Brinsley, What your saying has been said by many people for years. Its a load of rubbish that the Royal family bring in foreign money through tourism. They come for the History/Heritage. NOT the Royals...

AJ isnt it funny how some topics go of at a tangent I believe you berated me and others for doing this and in fact closed one yesterday!! but then I guess it is allowed because you are doing it !! You have your opinion but no one else is allowed too. The original post was asking who was showing the royal family wedding - as reminder if you moderate one topic moderate them all correctly

sienna Without going off topic, how was my posting off topic? So are you saying Bills posting was off topic? You are posting off topic because the topic was erm, damn I have forgotten now. Oh I remember now it was 'you know when you are getting old' when you forget what the topic was about. Enjoy your evening but go careful with the smiley's as the board only has a limited number and they should be shared around equally amongst all members.

The only point I was making is by the fact that they are there, without an active constitutional role apart from ceremonial, the Royals bring in revenue from overseas tourists out of a curiosity reason if nothing else which out weighs there cost. Richard

We are revisiting the Charles and Di Wedding - We spent that day climbing Tryfan and the Glyders in Snowdonia. It seems like a good time to see whether it's changed over the years, I'm sure that Royal weddings haven't.

Many thanks for all your information. I'm not even sure we will be in the TRNC at the time of the wedding but I would rather stay in the UK to see it. Everyone is certainly allowed their views re the royal wedding but all I wanted to know who would be showing it if I chose to come out during the dates of the wedding. I do have a place out there but when I post a topic I do find so much negative post that to get a reasonable response I have to read all the posts. Never - the - less as long as some reasonable people are willing to give their views then it's all worthwhile. Many thanks and Love to all Margaret x

We have actually booked flights today so will be in the TRNC for the wedding. I'm very grateful for the information on who will be showing the wedding. It's going to be an enjoyable day for me and a girlfriend who will be watching with me at one of the locations mentioned, although my other half has no interest what so ever. Once again thanks.
