Detailed Directions - Ledra Steet

Hello

Not very good at following directions, Would like to go to the Ledra Street crossing - Can anyone Please give detailed directions from Kyrenia

Drive over the mountain on the Girne to Lefkosia dual carriageway. At the end of the dual carriageway there is a large roundabout. Go straight over this roundabout and drive past the Hospital on your left. Just after the hospital there is a roundabout Go straight over this roundabout heading for city centre. After about 3/4 mile there are trafic lights at a major junction. Keep to the inside lane. There is a Jeep car showroom at these lights. drive straight on and you will see a sign for Ledra Palace. Follow this sign and you will come to a one way loop road which starts with a concrete statue shaped like a sergeants chevron stripes. Get into the right hand lane and follow the road to the TEE junction at the top. Turn right the move into the left hand lane. Turn left at traffic lights and this takes you through the old city walls at the Kyrenia Gate. Follow signs for parking and walk to the crossing. Someone will point you to it. Remember your passport.

If you odn't know the centre of Lefkosia, you can get a bit confused.

Fundamentally, you need to find Ledra Street more or less behind the Buyuk Han where there used to be a parking spac.e So, it is better to park in the overpriced car park near the Han, and ask someone for the crossing. Consulting a map could be easier. Message 2 takes you into the old city. I would suggest that you drive up Kyrenia Stgreet (that is what it is called) and past the Mevlane Museum, up to the top where the road bifocates. Keep to the left, drive up further until you are forced almost to bear right, but take a left. Very narrow one way streets round there. Believe it or not Kyrenia Street itself is one of these as the road takes a very sharp left whilst still bearing the same name.

Sorry if I confuse you, but you need to be at this end. KIf you are on foot it is easy to find but by car makes it more difficult. Don't suppose this helps, but maybe adds a little.
