Hi, I’ve got relatives in Kyrenia, and I/we have been thinking of moving to Cyprus. I know you have all probably heard this before, but please bear with me. My fiancée mother stays in Kyrenia, we have been over ‘visiting’ several times over the years, and now we are thinking of moving there (possibly renting our property in UK). The thing is though, we have a dog (Harvey) and due to the current TRNC ‘quarantine laws’ I couldn’t possibly put him into kennels, but with the EU Pet Passport Scheme I could take him to South Cyprus (I think that would be the best option), and my partner could visit (pop over the border, anytime) or they could visit us.etc. So the crux of this message is: Does anyone know of any recruitment agencies in South Cyprus (specialising in the Oil / Exploration field) I could contact? I apologise if this is the wrong forum to discuss this, but any help would be very much appreciated. BYW, I’m 43yrs old, experienced subsea project engineer, not a you

Hi Lilli, Fantastic…very much appreciated, I had a look at the site (mainly concerned with - hotel, leisure, catering and hospitality industries) but I think I may contact them anyway, they may possibly forward details of some other agencies. Thank you for your quick response. All the very best… we should be over again in June. Best regards. Paul… By the way… I ran out of ‘characters’ in my last message, it should have read: BYW, I’m 43yrs old, experienced subsea project engineer, not a young lad with ‘rose tinted glasses’ Thanks again.

brigOdoon Not a lot going on Oil and Gas wise out here at the moment although there is some exploration work going on in the Med. The only company of note is Noble who have been 'given' a license to do some test drilling. Notice I said 'given' I do not think that there were any bids made for exploration licenses so you will not see any of the major players out here in the Med in the future. The only other option is to do what I did and work out of the TRNC in countries like Azerbaijan. It is easy to get to Istanbul and from there the world is your oyster. AJ

There are many people working in North cyprus who work in the Oil & Gas Industry (myself included) TRNC is as good a "base" as any when working overseas as flights from Larnaca or Ercan/Istanbul can get you to wherever the work is worldwide. is a good place to start. Check out their website & register your availability is another that regularly sends mails of suitable vacancies when you register with them with your details Good luck.....I certainly have never regretted coming to North Cyprus and the feeling when coming "home" for 4 weeks to Sunny TRNC
