I understand we are only allowed to have one thread going on Missy so perhaps the other one could be closed now?

I have just spoken to KAR and have an update on Missy. She is currently with a foster carer and relaxing in the garden. She is being treated for her eye and ear infections. Obviously this is incurring some cost and if anyone would like to donate towards her treatment and care this can be done through KAR. Missy's foster care is only a temporary measure in the short term and hopefully with the coverage in Cyprus Today a new owner can come forward and offer her the home she deserves.

Can we leave the who did what and why's off this thread and focus on Missy and her future. I have been in contact with Tom, Missy's previous owner to update him.

Hi Pogle is there any chance you can post a link to Cyprus today and also a contact number at Kar so I can arrange a small donation from here in the UK.

Hi Lilli

Directly to KAR and they will ensure it goes towards Missy's care.

Bigbadbob, I just phoned the number on the KAR website http://www.kyreniaanimalrescue.org/ . I think the email for Cyprus Today is cyprustoday@yahoo.com but sure someone will correct if I am wrong.

Can i please just make it clear from the outset that Pogle decided that she wanted to do this to help Missy - if anyone does want to donate via KAR then can they please specify (as a reference) that the donation is for Missy . Before the cynical critics begin their anti KAR tirade --- KAR have not asked anyone for donations to help with Missy's treatment and care it was solely Pogle's idea and request.

Today Missy has been enjoying the sunshine and is now having a well deserved afternoon nap !

it would be wonderful if this elderly lady could be found a suitable home. I feel she has gone through such a lot, none of it her doing. I am not a dog expert by any means but reading all the info on her it seems to me that she has become snappy because of her circumstances rather than her nature.

PLEASE, someone, no children, quiet environment, lots of love but sense, can you give her a home,

PLEASE

TRNCvictim - if you look at the KAR website there is a UK (HSBC) account where any donations can be paid into. As Hamish says it will help if you give the name of Missy as the reference. I am sure if anyone wants updates on Missy then, as Pogle has already done , please contact KAR. I will try to keep you updated on here but sometimes i am away from pc for a few days.

I do hope she gets a home but do beware. We had a dog from the RSPCA in the UK, knew he was not good with children. Went up several times to take 'Reg' for a walk and he would love a fuss. We took him home and did he change, no one could stroke him, and if you moved your arm quickly he would snap and snarl. We had him for 10 years, because we loved him, but had to put him in the garden when we had visitors. The vet said he had been used as a football when small and no training could alter his nasty streak. The street dog we have here could not be different, he would lick you to death!!

I think the 'friend' who turned out to be anything but, who didn't take Missy to the Vet but - in effect - dumped her back on Kar, should be made to pay ALL bills for the rest of her life, whomever she goes to.......AND, should anything untoward happen to anyone due to Missy biting or the high cost of what is clearly an ongoing ear problem - that 'friend' should also be made to pay.........if nothing else, it might concentrate their mind to not ever lie again..................

I spoke with a lady from KAR today at the market as I wanted to know the progress on Missy. It would appear she is being treated so well and is having manicures, pedicures her problems sorted out etc. In other words she is being very well cared for. I was so happy to hear that. All that is needed is a good home for her she deserves it x
