Just heard from my daughter who says she thought she would surprise me for a week at Easter. Needs a Heathrow flight and she normally travels Turkish Airlines - the quote for a week was £623, that is after they quoted six thousand pounds - glad she speaks some Turkish. I realise that bank holidays are higher but £623 - think it is a bloody liberty she may have found something to come into the south, but she will not do that, so will not being seeing her Easter.

There is one simple fact now with booking flights and that is the earlier you book the cheaper it is. Unfortunately the days of the last minute bargain have virtually disappeared.

Rita Msg 1 - At Easter there are not enough seats (as some readers might know we are an airline short for the route). The airlines are not putting prices up it is always down to their having a set series of prices and as the cheap classes sell the more expensive ones come into play. They quite often have a slightly higher scale on peak dates but £6,000 wow!

This year when the wedding was announced a lot of seats were sold to people who did not want to be in the UK for it. Plus in 2011 Anzac day falls into the Easter period too!
