Best Television provider

Living in Alsancack would like to install TV to my villa for those long winter nights.Any suggestions to best provider or systems would be gratefully accepted

Cant really recommend anyone, but I would not use Cold in Alsancak (opposite Cenap). The programmes are permanently freezing and messages coming up

saying the programmed is unavailable and I paid one year up front. They never come when you call them, just fob you off. They did eventually come once and decided I needed a new box, this was three months ago. Am still waiting. Maybe someone else can recommend someone to you and then at the end of the year I will use them.

He can fill you in on the options, because it depends what you want to watch - Uk tv, or mainly movies (remember dvd's very cheap here), or sports.

If you fork out for a 4.2 dish (doubles up as a skate board ramp) then you can watch UK tv for free with a sky box. Good reception 99% of the time, and sky+ etc all work, but for sky+ etc you need a uk billing address I believe, and maybe a phone line with a uk number, not too sure as we don't have the posh sky. However, you can't get a lot of the weaker signal channels (or at least I can't).

Also, pop into pizza king in Als and have a look at Rudi's system, seems very good and works from his internet connection.

I have just spoke to Muslu about yours (he is the boss of Cold) and he said ring him as he didn't know you were still waiting he has just spent thousands of doolors on new boxes, so ring him and tell him susie told you to ring and he will sort it out personally

Try Digital Supreme in Alsancak they supply a wide variety of satellite at the fraction of the cost it would be to install that big ugly Sky Dish. You have the equivalent of Sky but much better wuth all the latest films. I had sky and cancelled it. I now get more of the latest films and more sport than sky have ever shown at a fraction of what Sky would cost every month. If you want Sky be prepared to pay a minimum of £2300 plus the cost of a large concrete base. This guy uses the internet but I have been told he has a new type of system that does not need internet.

it really depends on what you want you can get sky with a 1.8mt dish but you wont be able to recieve bbc and itv channels but stuff like chan4 and 5 and sky 1 and movie and sports channels you will be able to pick up but remember you will have to pay around £40 something pounds a month to subscribe to sky



the next option is what the other members have said the actual name of this system is card sharing, you will need a box like a dreambox which is conected to the internet and thru this the pay per view channels are opend but sometime this can be a bit tempremental due to internet connection and other factors but again you will have to pay a monthly or yearly fee on top of the the equipment you need, the other way where you dont need the internet is thru the satellite where one dish is pointed at a satelitte to once again crack the codes then you will need a further few more dishes to watch the channels you dont pay a subscription for this but there is no guarantee how long this will last and ive seen people throw away these boxes because when they do change the codes the box cannot be upgraded



the other way which i have done for a few people on this forum and you can ask them what they think, is to buy a next box have two dishes one pointed at hotbird and the other at nilesat and i chip the boxes to open a certain amount of channels this is by far the cheapest option and the box can be upgraded if the channels do change the codes

Have to agree with scampy about Cold.



When Muslu first started selling Showtime package the box used was at best temperamental. When the problem was identified Muslu changed all the boxes at no charge obviously to the customer.



Our current box did develop a problem a couple of weeks ago for which a new chip was needed fro Istanbul, while they were waiting we were left with another box. Now fixed and working perfectly again.



The showtime package is not cheap but we have regular viewing without the need for recoding etc. Obviously for some the options that ukturk highlights do the job very well. So at end of day the answer to original question is check out all the options suggested here and find the best that suits your viewing needs.

from what other members say they paid around £200-£250 and they brought and installed it from a place called tektan, i dont install these systems because im not in cyprus, i send the software to you via msn or skype and talk you thru the whole set up, ill email you further info and cost

then you can decide what system you can go for

I check my system today and I cant see your name in my system. If you give me your name which is our contract or if you give me your name I will solve your problem. We start the Showtime 2 years ago and when we import the boxes they gave us a problem. After that problem we paid extra STG 20 000 for give the good service to our customers. And we change all of the boxes(200 boxes) free. We cant take any service fee or nothing. And in last 2 years when my Showtime customers call me for their problems from Kumyalı to Karşıyaka I went max 2 days and solve the problems and I cant take any money from them. But some of mycustomers like you never understand something. You pay me the money for the system thats true but I gave you service. And If any of my customers call me from my number Alweys I sent the service to them. So if you call me from 05338682731 and give me you name or card number I will sent you the service. We try to give best service always with the original legal cards, not from internet with card sharing or not from 2 dishes which is illegal and not have quarantie... Regards to all of my customers.
