Specsavers UK and Kyrenia Akay Optic agreed and signed a contract as Kyrenia Akay optic will be authorised retail for the Spacsavers products in North Cyprus.

how much do you charge for the arnold, ben 2, brock, cameron, chay, garry, giles, greg or ken frames that Specsavers supply? I don't want to travel to your shop I just want to know how competitive and how wide your range of frames are.

How will your prices compare to the opitician on the South side who has contracted with SpecSavers ,

will you have to pay a higher rate of import duty as with most items coming into the North ?

Spectacle prices have always been lower in the North comparing with the prices at South Cyprus. You should quote some prices.

Pair of single vision plastic MAR coated lenses 34 euros including fitting, uncoated plastic lenses 13,50euros. air of mar coated -multifocal plastic lenses 117euros including one year coating warranty etc.

"Hi

Thank you for your inquiry.

To clarify, we do not have a contract with this entity and it is not an authorised seller of Specsavers products. Any further queries, please do let me know.

All the best,

Tom

apologise for Tom Bradshaw of Specsavers UK? I've made no accusation, merely passed on the reply of an employee of Specsavers UK. Msg 1 of the thread did say UK so I contacted the office there, I'll pass on akayoptics reply and see if an apology is forthcoming from Specsavers. Perhaps the confusion is that all the contacts are now from the Netherlands and contradict the original message "Specsavers UK and Kyrenia Akay Optic agreed and signed a contract as Kyrenia Akay optic will be authorised retail for the Spacsavers products in North Cyprus."

after I received an email from Akay Optics it seems that the confusion IS that no record of the Specsaver relationship is recorded in the UK because it looks like the contract IS GOING TO BE with the Netherlands branch.

I always buy my spectacles from Akay Optic in Kyrenia. I compared with the prices in the South and Akay Optic is always cheaper and in addition I get a better service at Akay Optic as they always offer me and smile.

Do you do eye tests there? Or just sell specs etc.

If you do do I have to make an appointment or just call in?

Thats trouth, but we have good long term contacts with the optical manufacturers in Europe as we are very old in this business. Importing is not a problem once you do everthing right, embargo is mainly on export business. We have no customs duty on spectacle frames and sunglasses, we only pay VAT on importation.

Most probably because of small population. What about Mercedes, BMW, Peugeot. They are in North Cyprus, imported and sold legally as well as after sales service.
