QUIZ (10): Again I have divided a picture of (part of) "something historic" in TRNC in 20 squares... ▶ The two questions for you: WHAT is it, WHERE is it..?! ▶ I'll fill one or two squares at random times - but there'll be no winner in this Quiz if in the end I have to uncover more than 15 squares... ▶ Here and there I'll give a cryptic hint or some info in this thread... ▶ The prize in this Quiz: an invitation for two for an "Historical Walk of your choice". OK, here we go again: expats and swallows, show your knowledge about Northern Cyprus... I hope to see new participants in this thread... ▶ ▶ ▶ Click this (shortened but safe!) link to view the Quiz-picture: [ http://is.gd/UEX7cd ]. P.S. Estimated level of difficulty of this Quiz: DIFFICULT... P.P.S. All other Quizzes here: ▶ [ http://is.gd/MHl4g0/Overview_of_updates_of_AAAC_site_in_2011 ]

A 400+ year old bronze Spanish cannon with probably some cannon balls although I cannot yet see them in the photograph. It is in the courtyard of the Citadel in Famagusta. Rather more cannons and cannonballs can be seen exhibited in the centre of Famagusta.

Re : Msg1 &3, I think these cannons in the courtyard of Othello's Tower and in the centre of Famagusta are old Turkish cannons, and along with iron cannonballs one can see stone balls which were tossed by a giant catapult (trébuchet).

Correction: The cannon in the photograph is a Turkish cannon. Something to do with the iron rings along the minalle

| Unfinished business! When I got banned recently I forgot about this Quiz - I apologise, especially to Darrener2, who as usual wins the Quiz..! (Can it be that one of your friends joined me on a Famagusta Walk... ?). Well done! Click this (shortened but safe!) link to view the full Quiz-12-picture: [ http://is.gd/UEX7cd/Quiz-12 ]. P.S. | Re : Msg 10, Dear DC, What do you mean: 'So what?' [said Red Zack]? I'd have never thought 'dogs on acid' is your thing! |

Re : Msg 12, It works now. Thank you! I was worried about you ( re: dogs on acid). Am I right or am I right, by saying that the cannons are Turkish (Msg4) , not Spanish as D2 wrote in her answer?
