Hi

I have a really bad throat, it is sore and I have constantly cough. For more than a year now, I have been having these coughs. I also noticed my voice changing, now it a low-pitched voice. I think I may have serious problems with my throat. Where can I go and who will you recommend?

I am writing on the forum to try a doctor philbailey, but I don't know any doctors. I'm asking here on the forum to find out which doctors I can contact. Not to look for the cure here;). I need a good doctor?

I will definitely go to a doctor, that's why I wrote on the forum. I don't know which hospital and which doctor will be the best.

Whilst at Medikent the other day I noticed that there was an office for an ear, nose and throat (kulak, burun, bogaz) specialist. Perhaps you could give the hospital a call and ask for details.

Yes, used to get terrible sweats & even now can't tolerate sudden changes in temperature. I was also extremely tired. Had terrible trouble getting my underactive throid diagnosed as the blood test kept coming back normal, but what is normal for one person is not for another. I did eventually get a below normal reading and my GP then put me on medication & I feel great now.

Have you got an Electric Blanket switched on? )

Joking aside - it's probably the throat infection causing it.

No electric Blankets

I did think it may have been the infection, but I also have been having the sweating for a year, it's nothing new. If an infection can go on for a year, I will be convinced that it's that causing it, but infections can't go on for that long can they? I always thought infections were short term which the body will recover eventually.

with the amount of typing you are doing , if i was your hubby i would be glad you cant speak ? take the thermals off . that should combat the sweating , or sit in the pool for an hour around midnight .

)) Rowlo, I hope your not married or anything. It's not a very nice thing you just said to me!. I'm making most of my talking by typing. I'm making up for the loss of verbal speech.

Just a reminder, we are here to type.

oceans (mess 32)

I had throat and ear problems a few years ago, it seems a virus caused the problem! It is still there and I have had to learn to live with it, however I see my consultant every 6 months! I am sure you will be ok, just keep on top of it, and if you notice any changes tell your doctor immediately!

I certainly wouldn't take rowlo's advice!

Hopefully he'll take his own advice, and sit in his pool around midnight, and stay there forever

Thank you Ersem. I will also try him!

BabyGirl, I went to Medikent Hospital to Dr. Hulusi. He didn't do any blood tests, he put something on the cotton wool and wiped that on to the infected area of the throat and wrote some medicine. Also asked me to go again so he can wipe that thing he used on the cotton wool to the infected area.

Thank you Ersem and oceana, I went yesterday to the kyrenia medical center on the advice of a friend and have been diagnosed with laryngitis, bronchitis and sinus infection - now I know why I have been feeling so run down. A 2 week course of antibiotics then back to the doctor who says hopefully I will feel better in about 3 weeks time.
