I went to the Turkcell stand at Lemar, topped up with 2000 units and asked the girl to check I had international roaming as I was going to Thailand. She told me I needed their "WORLD" service which she did for me and I found that 1500 units had been deducted but she explained that I now had 2 hours international calls anywhere in the world. Fine - I called Thailand a couple of times before I went and saw that my balance was reduced by a few minutes..

But when I got to Thaliand I found that every call I made (both within Thailand and back to TRNC ) were deducted from my few remaining standard units and my 'international time' wasn't touched. I tried to call Turkcell but after a lot of waiting I gave up. Instead I left a message via their website. A few days later my "WORLD" service had been reversed, my 1500 units restored and the 200 units I wasted trying to contact them were refunded.

So thank you Turkcell for listening and understanding - I wish more companies were the same.

I also wish to thank Turkcell for giving/selling a list of their customers contact numbers as a resulut so many of us get inundated daily with text messages all in Turkish that we so desperately need!!!

I have asked them to block them and they said it has nothing to do with them.
