Shooey I second that, these events need planning and arent we so lucky that we have the quality stars here. They set the seal. Val and her team work so hard to provide for the school and god knows they need help, together with my star Lee for Ismail, where would these poor people be without the people here to sing dance do crazy things. My heart goes out to you all. WELL DONE x

For Daisy - Dukes. Can I ask if you have ever been to karakum School? They are special needs children and need help and attention when in school. Some of the area was done in Parquet flooring when rumours had a charity night and raised enough to have it done. Lino would be no good there. Children like that play on the floor, and pick at anything and in no time they would have peeled it all up. I know Lino id cheaper but in the long run it would probably cost more. Hope this explaines thing to you. Thanks KLDS

You don't get splinters from lino, which can be mopped and disinfected often and easily, and would be very hard to pick apart if well glued down. Wood absorbs moisture and stains easily; is high maintenance needing to be waxed or polished to keep in good serviceable condition.

I understand that Karakum is a Special Needs School (or least that's what such schools are known as in the UK), and as such are required to adhere to certain rules and regulations. I am not saying that these are as stringent as in the UK (although I may be wrong), but possibly Parquet flooring is just one of those requirements? There may well be children who need to use wheelchairs, walkers, etc. and I would have thought that lino of any description (unless it's that very expensive stuff that is required by law in the UK for hospitals, etc.) wouldn't last very long at at all, so maybe Parquet flooring, although seemingly expensive initially, may be cheaper in the long run?
