| Reminding that the European Union had promised to lift the isolations on the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus in 2004, Bağış said that Turkey will open its ports to the Greek Cypriot Side once the EU removes isolations on the TRNC. Rejecting claims that Turkey had not included the Greek Cypriot Side in its ‘zero problem’ neighborhood policy, Bağış said that his country was working hard towards the solution of the Cyprus Problem. |

| Rejecting claims that Turkey had not included the Greek Cypriot Side in its ‘zero problem’ neighborhood policy, Bağış said that his country was working hard towards the solution of the Cyprus Problem. The Turkish Minister noted that Turkey has prevailed on the then United Nations Secretary General Kofi Annan to launch the negotiations process and urged the two leaders in Cyprus to continue the negotiations after the rejection of the Annan Plan by Greek Cypriots. |
