I am currently trawling though the airlines trying to book flights to the UK in the summer. I am astionished to find reasonably priced flights with BA from Larnaca to Heathrow. We have been using Pegasus for years as we felt that BA had pretty much ourpriced themselves as far as we were concerned. I am sorely tempted to grab a decent deal and enjoy a reduced flight time for a change!

However, as we flew into Cyprus via Ercan, I am concerned that there might be issues leaving the island from Larnaca. Has anyone had problems doing this or can anyone allay my fears?

Technically the ROC could stop you leaving from there

if you entered via Ercan

but it is a law not enforced now they are in the EU

If you're an EU passport holder, that particular law doesn't apply to you as it would be a breach of EU regulations on freedom of movement. Some (but not all) other passport holders could have a problem if they hit a bad day.

Hi Bognor Belle

No problem flying from the South. BA are still the best, and you can book in online and manage your booking. Free drinks, shorter flight, and good flight times. Only problem you may encounter is the border being closed. Then you would be left with useless tickets. But I think its unlikely, and worth the risk. Ercan has some awful memories for our family and I will not fly from there again.

If you hold a British passport and you are a British Citizen, you can travel basically any where in the world with out any trouble...

Do it twice a year. No problem. Have never found the border closed! If you book about six months in advance you can get the flights for about £101 each way. Very civilised, on time, free drinks, good seats, book on line, check in and choose seats online 24 hours before.

Thanks everyone. We used to fly in and out via Larnaca, but my only concern this time round was the fact we came in via Ercan. I will go ahead and book a bit of luxury this time round!
