Sky TV Problem CODE 29

I have a 4.2 dish and run it with a normal sky box, i have been away and retruned and the screen comes up with an error message code 29, no satalite being recieved, unplug box and leave for 5 mins.....done this now several times and still nothing.



Can anyone help? I am not that technical so no fancy words please!!!

ok take the card out , turn the box off , give card a wipe with dry cloth , re insert card and turn the box back on .

Thanks tootie i have read that, and we are getting a signal because my neighbours is working ok and they both run off the same dish, thats why this is an odd one, even tried his card and still no luck!

turn the box back to standby , light should go red/amber wait for 2mins ,turn box of at the mains wait a further 2mins ,turn box back on ,the light should be red/amber ,wait 1minthen press power button , light should go green and it should work .

Rowlo, done that still the same, i just had a thought could it be that the wire may have come loose from the LNB or am i barking up the wrong tree here, the dish is on the roof so unable to check this....and i can't get up there, and i am a woman! LOL

if neighbours is working ok then i dont think its a problem with the dish , try your card in his box ?

If your connections are ok try retuning the frequency to 12207,services 4then press 4-0-1-select

OK been to next door and his working ok with card and without!!!



I have looked at the link and when i go into set-up then signal test, there are no grey bars so i assume from this the wire has come loose on the LNB maybe?

michelle,I think your sky box is kaput.But to be sure take it round your neighbours and try it on their lead.

Michelle. mmmmmm/Mark has sent me this email to post for you . Follow these instructions.....

press services 4,0,1 select - do it - don't worry what it shows on the screen until you complete the instructions - it takes you to a hidden menu



press 2 for LNB setup



As Gooligan says enter 12207 in the frequency



Go down to save settings



press select , twice





press SKY





IF it says seaching for listings - please wait and you see the correct time and date, you will soon be up and running again



If this doesn't work then you need to check the cable connections, then IF that doesn't work, ask the neighbour if you can put your box on his system and see if your box is ok... IF it works, then you need an engineer to check the LNB / or the dish

Hi All thanks for the replys, managed o get it sorted today, one of the ports on the LNB was shot, so put into another and all ok now.......thank you all very much for your support and messages. xx

We tried my neighbours box in mine and didnt work, so we swaped the ports over and it worked, so it was just one the ports that was shot!!!



But now can't get ITV, so does anyone have the up to date Frequency code?
