Scientists for years have been working to find ways to enable people to eat fish without finding small dangerous bones.

For some years now, farmed prawns and shrimps go through a process which disintegrates the shell. This is achieved by a gentle “washing” process.

More recently, small fish such as sardines, pilchards and whitebait have been using the same process with much success.

The treatment uses a similar method which is found in all human stomachs. Basically it is the acid which does the work. Now UK Government scientists have achieved what they thought would take years to do: remove all small bones in the most popular fish. They have had 100% success with Cod, Haddock and Plaice. Unfortunately Skate had only a 27% success rate.

Continued.

Mediterranean countries led by Italy are pushing their own scientists to use this method on fish caught locally. The only 3 star Michelin restaurant in Rome, run by head chef Afolia Prody, believes the Italian State will save millions of Euros in medical costs as well as introducing fish to young people.

All tests have begun and the EU believes within 10-12 years McDonalds will be able to remove all warnings on their Filet of Fish Meals.

" McDonalds will be able to remove all warnings on their Filet of Fish Meals. "

What? Even the warning that everything other than the fish is high in salt and fat and tastes like shit?

Gavin, I also thought it was a bit strange.

You can't say shit! You certainly cannot write "shit". This is a family board. Your children might read what daddy wrote. Tut tut.

Anyway, I've never tasted shit, so I'll have to take your word on that.
