| Can anyone tell me how strict they are with hand luggage? I bought a new bag last year which in size was cabin friendly, I have looked on the thomas cook website and the measurements for hand luggage are smaller. Not by much just a few inches but was wondering if I would get away with it! |

We flew to Lanzarote with TC in Feb. They have become very strict about hand baggage and asked to see everyones bags, in some instances even weighing them. They will also charge you for even a kilo over in your hold baggage. |

| Debdebs, the size is awful !! I have booked a flight with them to return to UK and did not check the size. I always fly back BA to Cyprus as at least you get 23kg on the hold, allowed hand luggage bag plus a laptop or handbag and can put 10 additional cases on the hold for £28 a case for all those 'extras' one needs!! When you think how much per kilo you get charged for excess baggage, the slightly increased fare with BA makes it worth the while. Regards, Mrs Snakes |

| MrsSnakes, I normally travel to the UK from Ercan but the cost of the flights was quite a big difference so decided this time to fly Thomas Cook. It wasn't until after I had booked that I started to hear some bad stories about the airline. I've noticed they charge £10 a kilo for excess baggage so I will definately be weighing my bags before I leave the UK, better not hit the shops too much! ha |

| Always amazes me that they are so strict at check in , but then you are free to buy as much as you want when airside. |
