There are no discounts for forum members if it was up to me i would give you all 50% off except for bob but this year there will be events with great prices eg. Concerts with full 3 course meals, spa deals once the ports open there will be great events on every weekend and i am here to inform you all... As soon as i know anything i will put it on here. I just hope everyone on here is not like bob. If so then me posting here is pointless....

I stayed at the cratos for a holiday with my hubby last september and had a lovely time, would highly recommend it although it was new the staff were great, the hotel is a high standarand would definitely stay there again whenever we need a hotel to visit my daugher living in catalkoy.



I hope it stays open! It is trying to bring some glamour to the north, and there is nothing wrong with offering a variety for us to choose from... times are tough for most of us, and i hope the buisness will flourish for those trying to make the place a success...

I'm with Nick and Stonehouse. Apparently the for sale story was in the Star, a paper known for not getting its facts right and trying to sell on pictures.

She said the hotel was not for sale. End of. But people won't leave; the sort of people that believe the Star and therefore wouldn't really be in the Cratos hotel's market.

I would say don't let the idiots turn you away - GR Cratos, but, I don't blame you.

I agree that inside the place is great with great facilities, but the exterior made me think of Stalag 17 when I first saw it. Such a shame that such an expensive place has such an unappealing exterior.

Marion you are indeed right it appeared in several papers, and I do agree, for such a lovely place inside the exterior leaves a lot to be desired.

The newspapers reports also stated that the nice Italian restaurant franchise were leaving, and that the owner of Q Jazz club who was involved had already gone, now if these were not true facts I think the owners of Cratos would surely sue the various tabloids involved in spreading this malicious gossip, wouldn't you agree AnthonySmith

I don't think we are trying to strangle anything, we just want to know the real truth. As to suing papers here, can't be done, and that is why it is difficult to find out truth. I guess the places that were there as franchises, or whatever, found it was not economically viable.

I hope the make it because there are so many businesses here that come and go, but I thinkt he recession has arrived and many are struggling. maybe that is why the story started. But I do know the sailing club is going there and delighted with the idea.

As to the newspaper reports, if several places said so, from whence came the story?

hellooooooo Marion im telling u the truth ITS NOT FOR SALE. Secondly this hotel is owned by two very very very wealthy brothers so need for gary robb or to sell. Yes the jazz bar owner and italian resterant owner has left but after 1 day someone else has taken over. If you want to know something all you have to do is ask and for the outside of the hotel this hotel shell was already built by someone else who went bankrupt so they couldn't really change it and if you ask me its better now than what it would have been if no one brought it and left it as two grey cement blocks. Give Cratos a break... They are good guys and trying there best.
