| Is anyone using A Freesat receiver with either a 1.8 or 4.2 dish, would like to know if they work or is it only Sky boxes with a card that work. Would like to come away from Sky but still be able to record onto a hardrive, this works fine in the UK but would it work here. |

| I use a Humax Foxsat HDR with a 4.2 Dish. Do not think you will pick up BBC with a 1.8 dish but with the 4.2 it is brillant. BBC ITV HD etc etc Freesat on a regional basis (your choice of region, just input a postcode on setup). Tuner is better quality then any Skybox. It`s a twin tuner so you can either loop the dish connection then you can watch and record different channels or have a twin connection which gives even more flexibility. BUT and its a big but, Humax works off two satillites one you can pick up here the other you cannot. So to get Freesat and EPG you have to tune it in in the UK. Bring it back to Cyprus, connect it up and it works perfectly. You will not be able to get automatic updates in Cyprus but you can download from the Humax website via a memory stick. But updates are few and far between, last one was about two years ago. As always with satillite Iceman is your first and only contact for expert advice and setting up the dish. |
