With 320 days of sunshine a year, North Cyprus is the ideal Mediterranean location to get married, renew your wedding vows or have your wedding blessing and party and so much cheaper than the UK.

Fishh,

You will need a couple of forms from Girne (the new buildings next to Girne hospital) which you take to the embassy in London along with any other relevant documentation (birth certificate, decree absolute etc) where you must get certificate (if a UK citizen)... which then needs to be presented in Lefkosa no more than 3 months before the wedding and no less than 7 days before the wedding. A registrar from Girne will be assigned to conduct the proceedings and that's basically it... Just been organising it for my best friend who is getting hitched here in June... much easier than anticipated - so far... Famous last words...!

rry message no.5, do you mean how can you legally get wed here ? If so, then there is certain amount of paper work which gets done by wedding planners, oryou can do it yourself. There are webpages to giv e you answers to that. Delarations have to be made, papers lodged here and in U.K, or one friend of minegot a lawyer to do it as it is cheaper than flying back to U.K to do it. But it depends where you are.

The free advice is out there. Or, talk toa wedding planner.

Agree spanna, but what a lot of Brits don't realise is that the 'registry office ceremony is as far removed from the U.K one asyou can ge. a couple of sentences and there you are. Faster thn Las Vegas. But if you just want that legalpiece of paper in the sunshine, then it is a great way to marry.

Mandy Msg 5 - There are other wedding planners in the market with different amounts and types of experience such as Vashti at http://www.north-cyprusweddings.com or Teresa at http://www.north-cyprus-weddings.com so try them or Claire for advice. If you employ one of them they should take responsibility and should know and inform you of the rules & regs.
