Are you fed up with leaves blocking the non return valve allowing water to drain into balance tank whixh then overflows loosing water. I had toclean mine each week but then a Butterfly check valve was installed. Not touched the valve now for 18 months through every season. Now available in North Cyprus from Heatsaver North Cyprus John 0532 340 2230 or Kemal 0533 850 7517

Hi John, This sounds interesting and as we have over 150 pools under maintenance, blocked n/r v/v's are a pain and a cause flooding and water loss. Please can you contact me on vaughan@sunnycyprus.net

I now have one of these v/v's for appraisal. I must say my first impression is that this v/v is a vast improvement in design on the usual bullet-nosed type n/r v/v. We have 4 pools currently under construction and it is my intention to fit this v/v as standard from now on. For pool owners suffering from the problem of regularly choked n/r v/v's, this is the solution. Please contact me for a free, no obligation quote to supply and fit one of these valves. vaughan@sunnycyprus.net

Vaughan, Will they not simply replace the existing n/r valve? Or do they require changes to the pipework?

The "original" valve is probably glued in and will require cutting out. This will leave the pipework a little short and it may need extending to accomodate the new valve. Therefore, there will likely be a bit of cutting and glueing needed. As the glue needs 24 hours to go-off before water can be re-introduced, there may also be a little travel charged. Hence the free, no-obligation survey and quote.
