May 1st. MAYDAY, lets pull all the stops out for this brave little boy.

The Venue , Cine Miles, Girne. Start 2.00pm with a superb Mountain View style Buffet, only 12 TL.

these buffets have big reputation, so no excuses , you can come for lunch.

Live music and enetertaiment starts at 3. 30pm through till 9.30pm.

This is going to be a fun day, Inc. already confirmed.

The lovley Emma, The ever popular Kelvin, Mr Barry Snakes, there will be a few more artists confirmed.

The final part of the Auction for the signed David Haye Gloves,

The Rafflle for the Trolley Dash, at Supreme.

plus. The Official launch of the C.D. "For Ismail" Writen, produced every instrument and vocals performed by our very own, Barry Snakes.

Snakes has worked very hard making this incredible, almost haunting piece of music, any profits made from the sales of this C.D will go directly to Ismails fund.

Barry will perform this on the day, also may be a grand finale with all artists .

We are waiting to hear if the newly regrouped band "Pearl" will be performing, and also just had confirmation from Val. that Kibris Liners wil be joining us in the evening.

I would imagine that Ozzy at Cine Miles will require you to book for the Buffet, so that he knows an approx amount to cater for.

Will confirm in the near future, In the meantime Phone Num for Cine Miles is 0542 874 5489 and my Num is 0533 843 6539.

Hello Top Ten.It is by the HSBC bank, a very nice bar, not a massive place but also very nice inside. probably get about 150 to 200 people outside,

I beleive it is owned by the Lady and Gentleman who run Mountain View, hence the ref. to the Mountain View style buffet, they enjoy avery good reputation, and their son Ozzy runs Cine Miles.

He is very keen to get the bar on the map with expats and is keen to help Ismails cause.

Hopefully Ozzy will confirm what I have said. Thank You.

Good evening all,

Yes we are just up from the HSBC bank, going towards the roundabout. The current plan is to open up the back garden and have a stage set up for the main acts. This will allow more people to be seated to enjoy the entertainment on hand. For the previous Galatatasaray-Fenerbahce derby match we seated 370 upstairs and downstairs, so I am sure we can comfortaly cover more than 200 for such a good cause.

Bookings are coming in thick and fast for the unlimited buffet. Myself(0542 874 5489) and Sue(0533 848 5115) are now both taking reservatations. I've heard that the 'For Ismail' CD writen and performed by Mr. Snakes is top quality and we are all looking forward to the launch on Mayday.

If anyone has any questions please don't hesitate to give Sue, Lee or myself a call.

Regards,

Oz

OK Loose Boots would welcome that, Called in last night to sort a few things with Ozzy, It's a nice venue,

He is very helpful, its not a massive place , may be around 250 people, Ozzy will confirm,

But it seems well organised, and comfortable, and he has several Outside heaters and if the weather doesn't warm up soon we shall need them.

I will confirm the line up and other details soon. But I can tell you that we will be 2 or 3 raffles and each one will have a few normal type prizes . Plus a MEGA prize.

As you will see, we are not charging entry, the buffet is a silly price, the artists are very kindly giving there time for no fee.

So the Raffle will be our only way of raising funds, so in the words of Bob Geldof, "give us your flipping money"

The poster should be in and around town tomorrow or Wednesday. I've also had a very good response from the people around uni who have been touched by Ismet's story.

I am also very much looking forward to it. But as you Lee, I don't think I am going to have a chance to sit down and enjoy the acts on stage!

Don't take it to heart about message 41. That's just the way N.N. is, he has helped me with Ismail's fund also.

Whatever he posts, well it still helps to keep the topic up at the top.

I have known N.N. many years. He is actually a very clever decent guy.

Please do not let this distract from the purpose of this topic.

Just a big thank you to all of you, I will be posting a seperate Topic Re. Little Ismail shortly.

Hi Lee, Think I have done what you wanted:

http://postimage.org/image/d3octhwk/ Ctrl/click on link for picture

FIRST CASK SPEYSIDE MALT 1977 BOTTLE 172/21703

This 25-year- old single cask whisky, produced from spirit originally distilled at the Allt-A-Bhainne distillery, has a light golden colour and delicate aroma of apricots with cereal notes. Medium-boiled, it has a fruity character with a light peatiness, and a long finish.

Allt-A-Bhainne has never been released as a single malt by the company, and though there have been some independent bottlings in the past, tasting samples have been scarce. All the more reason then to savour this rare 25-year-old single cast whisky.

Don’t forget to add a drop or two of mineral water to liberate more of the malt’s complex flavours.

http://postimage.org/image/d3zxkxd0/

FIRST CASK HIGHLAND MALT WHISKY 1979 BOTTLE 309/1383

This fine 24-year-old single cask malt has a pale golden colour and a delightful leafy aroma. Full bodied and lightly peated, it has a nutty character and malty flavours of toffee – a smooth- bodied, lively malt with a thoroughly warming finish. The distillery, designed by the talented Elgin architect, Charles Doig, was one of several built on the estate of the local gentry and eminent local distiller, Alexander Edward. The year after its completion, at the turn of the century, it was handed over to Roderick Dhu. It changed hands a number of times in its first thirty years, then was considerably damaged in a fire in 1939, which luckily left the warehouse, within which lay maturing stock, unscathed.

Don’t forget to add a drop or two of mineral water to liberate more of the water to liberate more of the malt’s complex flavours.

message 66 Just a thought N.N you know our banter is seasonal ! this Sunday is such an important event for all concerned ! As you know At the outset Lee and Jan committed to help this family and at first it all seemed quite straight forward to provide a simple "false arm" for this little boy to look almost "normal" ! then all went so tragically wrong as more problems unfolded . Like true brit pillars they didnt up, run away, or forget their commitment but increased their efforts to support this family in their grief ! I cant think of anything else to do to help this situation but to try and be beside them as much as possible and if you e mail me your address in Thailand i will send you a copy of "For Ismail" in the hope you can sell it to some "ex pats" in your area ! Sadly I cannot possibly do a version in Thai, the Turkish version was hard enough !!!!!! regards barry PS

look forward to seeing you all at Cine Miles, Girne, Sunday for a great party atmosphere !!!

Snakes, the CD is awesome, the Turkish version and the mix is fabulous, I know how many hours you have put in to this and I have sweated blood and Liras getting the artwork and presentation produced.

15 out of 10 to you and everyone else who has helped,

Fingers crossed for sunshine on Sunday.

But at least there is inside aswell, and plenty of big umberellas and patio heaters,

Funnily enough, someone asked me tonight if NN is coming, I said I wish, I know he would dig deep and support us, I really wish he could be there.

We never said it is FREE entry, (not a bad deal for a great day).

I sent a text to the unknown benefactor explaining that if anyone beats his bid on the David Haye Gloves, £1500, we would refund him, Guess what he said. No way Lee that monay was for Ismail and his family, How cool is that !

We have received so much support from well wishers the last few days asking us to carry on.

One very big thank you to you all.

Lee and all !!!! I sincerely hope that the CD helps in some small way to raise funds to continue supporting all concerned. The Turkish version was brilliantly translated by Yasin (Yunus) this person has also given so much time to this cause by translating between all parties. It wasnt a case of just translating word for word as in Turkish it didnt make sense so he has done a great job. Then we re wrote it how it should be pronounced in english !! We are asking for at least 10TL for a copy which has both versions ! I am looking forward to seeing the finished article ! thanks to all involved in making this happen kind regards Barry PS Could the KLD dance to it ??????

What is the order of events?

I will be there but unfortunately my time will be limited and I need to time my visit around some of the acts.

Sorry i couldn't stay for it all, and sorry i could not speak to loads of people I haven't seen in ages. the music does not allow for conversations! But I would love to know the final figure. I couldn't tlak to Lee as he was too busy, and I hope that he does a final posting on here.

a lot of people seemed to be having a great time. I enjoyed the food which was a great bargain, and I am dying toknow how much of a bargain the entire day was.

But I wouldn't be surprised if the organisers are completely 'cream crackered' as they say in my part of London, so I will wait for further news. But hope they are wide awake enough to realise how much their efforts were appreciated by so many.

I cannot Beleive that Sir Henry Cooper has died on a day so relevant to Boxing, Scary.

Ok first Off, I think it was an incredible day, I have put my heart and soul into organising this over the last 4 weeks, I honestly have not stopped, but It is sooooooooo worth while, the fantastic comments and positive remarks and support from so many wonderful people.

I think it was a Mega day, and the weather was good to us, There are some amazing people here, and to spend a day like this in your company seeing so many people happy and having fun for a good cause really is special. I enjoyed every minute.

Firstly let me thank , (in no particular order) Kibris Liners, always there for Ismail.

Barry Snakes, What a musician. Ismail Icin.

Pearl, fantastic live band, there first gig, and please go to see them.

The lovely Emma, Outstanding.

Kelvin. in the words of Harry Potter, Bloody Brilliant. Unfortunatley he had a problem with his amp. Great news for me I got to sing . CTD

Zero Chlor, for all his hard work in getting the Gloves and Trolley dash,

Maggie, Spider, Lilli and Guido, Cine Miles (what aBuffet) great Venue. All the Raffle Ladies, Japeal, Mr Vince. etc.etc. etc. Oh the guy who did the auction, WHAT A STAR.

I cannot mention you all, There are too many wonderful people, you are all in our thoghts and thanks, please do not be offended if I have left you out,

Everyone who has supported us over the last 14 months. and kept little Ismail alive and given his family hope.

As you know our unknown benefactor paid for the gloves £1500, sometime ago, and also over the last 12 months has given us a further £2000, well he sent me a text saying if you get a higher bid sell the gloves.

Well if you where there today, you know the story, I did not expect to beat that bid, I said wel at the end of the day if we break even and put on this fantastic day for Ismails supporters, its still worthwhile.

But what happened? We had a fresh bid. Ctd.

£1700 yes £1700.

Our expenses for the day are 1190 Lira.

Raffle and CD sales and Whisky 1345 Lira, Boxing gloves @ 2,48 Lira =4216 Lira. Total = 5561 Lira

Minus expenses we made 4371 Lira.

I think a fantastic days work, and we still have approx 50 Cds to sell and one very expensive Bottle of Malt Whisky to Auction,

We did not let the other bottle of Malt go today because the other one only fetched 95 Lira, and it is £90 on the internet, so someone had a bargain

Swings and roundabouts, Just hope you all had a fabulous day.

Just one big thank you to all of you Also there are other Artists we would have loved to invited, but as you people who where there could see we would not have had time.

We will look to putting on another concert within the next few months and hope to see you all again.

Watch the newspapers next week hopfully lots of you will be in there.

StevieF and Linda, thank you I really enjoyed it, it was a great atmosphere, I have to take my hat off to Cine Miles, Ozzie and his family, what lovely people to work with.

Great venue, and Everyone has commented on the buffet, 12Lira cheap as chips. (and what chips) big homemade ones.

I met Ozzie about amonth ago, and he asked me, could I put Cine Miles on the map with the ExPats. Lets hope we killed 2 birds with 1 stone. Raised some money for Ismail and also got Cine Miles the recognition they deserve.

The audience can make or break a show. You people made it .

Is it possible to give a breakdown of the expenses incurred?

For a charity /fundraising event 1190 ytl ( 20.40%) expenses taken from the gross receipts of 5561ytl does seem a lot.

I thought all the work was for free?

Sorry its taken me a while to post today. I was very tired after last night and didn't get home until around 3 a.m. I just wanted to thank everyone who came down yesterday and made the event what it was. Without you all it wouldn't have been what it was and we wouldn't have raised such a fantastic amount for Ismail. A really great achievment.

I thought all the acts were fantastic, producing some stunning performances throughout the day. Special mention must obviously go to Lee and Jan, who I know have worked so tirelessly over the past month to put on this event. From distriuting/printing flyers, hanging posters, placing adverts in newspapers and producing the cover and final copy of the "For Ismail" CD(performed by the outstanding Barry Snakes), these things take up a lot of time and its a testament to how well the event turned out. You should all be very proud.

Regards,

Message 93. Yes all work is for free, in fact not just free but at a cost to everyone involved. Phone credit and diesel etc. being pretty expensive here.

But unfortunatley newspaper adverts are not free, atrwork is not free, printing is not free, flyers are not free, posters are not free, DVDS are not free etc. etc.

How you can say 20 % is high, well I am amazed.

On a more positive note. Ozwozz86 You and your family did so well, Just. A BIG THANK YOU.

Lee !!!! did you hear the one about the bloke that recorded a song and did'nt get a copy ???? Plonker !!

message 93 !!!!! perhaps if you were to "give a hand" you would see just how much all this has cost most involved and I can assure you 1190 TL for an organisation such as this was very very low sorry ! (20.40%) ! There's so much more goes on behind the scenes that people who just sit infront of computer screens, on this forum, waiting to pounce just have no idea !!! regards Barry

Lilli that is a very kind gesture, thank you. I know that we have to get more produced, it is all time consuming right down to sticking the picture sticker on the actual CD which Jan and Lee did by hand and it took ages, bubbles appearing just like when you wall paper, all these 'behind the scenes' preparations that take place! I will speak to Lee, or I am sure he will read this and the next batch that is produced, you can most certainly take to the market. It was lovely seeing you, you looked so more relaxed!! xxx
