The Speaker of the Republic’s Assembly Hasan Bozer has issued a written statement harshly criticizing all posters and slogans that were ranted at the protest action held yesterday by several trade unions from the Trade Unions Platform against Turkey.





In the written statement Mr. Bozer strongly condemned the groups which carried posters accusing the Turkish Armed Forces of being an occupational force in Cyprus and which targeted the government in Ankara.

“We strongly condemn those groups which have defamed our political parties, the leaders of our political parties and members of our parliament who are representatives of the people. These actions do not fit with the Cyprus Turkish people’s understanding of democracy and tolerance” he said.



The Parliamentary Speaker also said that those responsible for yesterday’s actions should know that such actions do not have the support or the approval of the people.



“Such moves and actions also serve to damage the reputation of trade unions and their movements. Therefore they are unacceptable” he added.

By the way is there a minimum number of characters for a post to be accepted ? I tried to say just thank you on the threads you added the necessary links to but my posts do not appear.

Erolz. Sorry, yes there is a minimum.I think its 12 characters.



That is why you see some people add (........) at the end of the word.

I was wondering if there was a MINIMUM requirment not a mximum one but thanks for the response anyway. I tried posting just 'thank you' on other posts and it didnt appear, no message or anything saying why, just hitting send brought me back to the original post and my 'thank you' post was not there.

I am afraid I did rather jump to conclusions that were not valid, so appologies to all for that. I tried to post 'thank you' when you added the link I asked for and when it didnt appear I assumed, quite wrongly, that I had somehow been stopped from posting.
