As part of our Royal Wedding celebrations on Fri April 29th, JK's is holding a tug of war match between JK's locals and The Pumas Rugby team.

On this basis, does anyone have a suitable rope that we could borrow just for the event? Ideally it needs to be approx 1.5 - 2" wide and approx 120 ft long.

If anyone can help at all, can you pls give us a call on 0533 835 6114?

Many thanks

JK's Bar, Lapta

Hello, I just read your post out to my husband who has just informed me that they used to do a tug of war in Estentepe. He said to contact Sevki at Tumba Restaurant in Estentepe as they possibly still have the rope. Sorry I have looked everywhere for the number but can't find it. He also suggested contacting Delta Marina and asking them if you could borrow some from them.

Rope in Cyprus? It's made from hemp and was once a huge export revenue for this Island until the Brits couldn't understand why people wanted to smoke it and burnt all the crops!

The acronym for rope is; Retail Outlet Profitability Exercise. Something the Banks practice daily on their customers!

They had one at the Black Olive Cafe in Alsancak last year for their tug of war contest, may still have it.

I've got a skipping rope or you can borrow my washing line, if the washing is dry.
