Fraud police in London made arrests of several people who were swindling people over greenbelt land. Fraudsters with a string of bankrupt companies behind them used hard sell tactics to con people into pating with thousands of pounds. it is believed the fraudsters made millions. the land is in areas of natural beauty with no chance of being built on. Propert scams in the UK has increased by up to 400% in the past two years. In 2002 the Labour government removed the need for paper work to encourage enterprise. The company ' Dakota Parteners International ' rented offices at 26,000 pounds a month with a phone bill of 6,000 a month. All those arrested have been granted bail.

I really hope the premise of your post is not that because it happens in U.K. it is okay that it happens here. lets face it in an island of 63,000,000 people, it happened and then perpetataors were caught, in the TRNC it happens and it is deemed not to be a crime, the archaic laws allow it and even Banks are immune, what does that tell you. It tells me that here is no will on then part of the TRNC GOVERNMENT TO DO ANYTHING. Shame on them, shame on AKFINANS bank

Yes misunderstood, shame on them all, but actually, they have no shame - they do not even perceive that they are doing wrong!!! How long is all this going to go on. It does not seem to matter how many governments come and go, nothing changes. An absolute disgrace. This is a country where even the government is without honour, so what chance has anyone of having their basic rights respected? Too angry to say more

The few who have had judgements in their favour (victims) have actually received anything? There appears to be a culture to take but never give.

Funny you should say that Quarmby, Pauline has written about her Breach of Contract award on NCFP, just appeared. This is on topic if you think about it. suehowlittle, I can find no fault with anything you say. Where there is no honour, there is no shame.
