Hi Everyone, Apologies if I have duplicated my request. I am a UK national married to a Russian lady wanting to visit Northern Cyprus. We live in the UK and will fly from Manchester to Istanbul and then on to Ercan. Does anyone know if my wife needs a visa to enter Northern Cyprus or is she free to travel here as she is to Turkey and Egypt where we pay a small entry fee/visa fee. Thanks

you will be given a 30 day visa on arrival - at no cost... if you fly via turkey as a "transit" passanger, there is no need to for a visa for turkey......

Hi Tinkiwinki, I am Russian , living in NC for 8 years, if you have any more questions, ask me domnakipre@list.ru Your wife will get a visa ( and you too) at the airport. You are free to enter NC. If you do not want to have a stamp of NC in your passport , fill in the form at the airport.

As far as I know there is no visa requirement between Russia and Turkey. Thus she can enter Turkey without paying for a visa but British passport holders have to pay for a visa when entering Turkey. When entering TRNC, there is no need for a visa and you are normally given permission to stay for 30 days. Strictly speaking, a Visa and permission to stay are not exactly the same thing. A Visa is a prior permission to enter even though you may get your visa just before the passport control. ismet

Hi Tinkiwinki, just to add, I had a problem with my Russian fiance, not when we came into Ercan (no problem there) but we went southside to fly out from Larnaca. Although she has a Shengan Visa, which covers her for entry in the south, when we went 'out' through passport control in Larnaca, they tried to cause us grief because, according to them, she had entered the country illegally. If you fly into the north, I suggest you make sure you leave the same way, just in case you were planning an onward journey, as we did. This is not a problem for EU passport holders, apparantly, but can be for others. That was our experience around 4 months ago. But to reiterate, coming in and leaving via Ercan - no problem; just the fact that we tried to 'mix and match' was our problem. Enjoy your trip
