We hope to retire next may, and are in the process of buying a property. We are coming over to stay from 1st-7th October 2007 and would like to meet up ( for a drink or meal) with someone who has already moved from England. I'm afraid you will be bombarded with questions, if you don't mind, about changes we will have to make, obstacles we will come across . We will be staying at the Ship Hotel whilst we are there, but can arrange to meet anywhere. Please email us, if you are interested in helping out a couple of (soon to be) ex-pats. Many thanks. lorray.l@virgin.net

Hi Lor/ray,

We are ex pats living in Malta, we took early retirement here five years ago, and have loved being here all but for the lack of space on a small island.

We too are visiting Cyprus from 1st - 14th October and may possible extend to a month, depending on how we feel about the feel of Northern Cyprus as an alternative base to Malta.

What appeals is the price of property, the views and not being over built as in the south of the island.

We have done extensive research on the history and current affairs of Northern Cyprus and keep coming up with controdictions as to whether previously Greek owned land can be reclaimed. Also news of bogus estate agents and builders.

Although we cannot impart experience in living there we feel it might be useful to exchange notes and experiences in our discovery of this beautiful part of Cyprus.

We look forward to hearing from you, Veronica and Jeff

Hi. Lorray - We've been coming to TRNC for the past 16/17years. It took us until 2 years ago to actually decide to buy a place - well, no sense in rushing into things! We will be in Alacancak at the time time youl'll be staying at The Ship. We would be pleased to meet with up with you for a drink/meal, if you feel we might have anything helpful to tell you.

P.S. We have had a relatively "No hassle"purchase, if that's any help. Please let us know, and we'll give you ourmobile number (arriving 23.09.07)

Kind regards

P & J
