We went last September and it was 20 Lira admission. Food and especially drinks very expensive I remember it was 8 Lira for a can of Coke.

Thanks Toonie, it'll be interesting to see if they increase it and by how much for this year.

not a bad business - charge people to go onto a beach that you don't actually own !!

Then charge gold rush prices for the food and drinks...

3.20 for a can of coke ( you'd pay 30-40p on a typical beach in thailand)

no wonder so many folk have had enough.............

so much for "we moved here cos it was cheap.....

You can pay 25TL for the use of the spa all day (this includes use of the outdoor swimming pool and beach) and also includes sauna, steam room, jacuzzi, hamam and indoor pool. We also have lunch from the snack menu at very reasonable prices and there's penty of it as well!

Never had our bags searched and took our own picnic on to the beach. If you sit on the sand on a blanket they cant do anything about it as its a public beach!

You are aware that it is illegal to charge people to get on the beach? Acapulco can allow to use the beach because of its proximity to the sea front, but when was it exactly that the deeds of the coastline (and the beach) were passed on to them? Not only that but Acapulco is illegally blocking/barricading the old Girne - Karpaz road, a road that leads to a large stretch of coast line not owned by Acapulco.

I suggest to everyone - either refuse to pay when you get there and call the police if not allowed to pass through, or refuse to go to Acapulco for anything! My childhood was spent in Girne before the war, and I remember when we would freely attend the same beach and just use the restaurant/cafe for refreshments. Someone decides to build a hotel for free, using government loans on public land, because they had a very close relative at a ministerial position. NOT THAT IT WAS IN EXCHANGE FOR ANY PROPERTY LEFT IN THE SOUTH.

I think it's outrages that they can charge this fee to use a beach that belongs to all the people, but more unbelieveable that people actually pay it! how can anyone justify charging 8TL for a can of coke when you've just spent 20TL for entering their premises? I'm not sure how much coke costs in TRNC supermarkets, but i bought 15 cans for £4 (27p / 0.67TL each) the other day in Sainsburys and the most i've ever paid for a coke is £1.90 - £2.10 in a restaurant and that was a bottomless glass (i.e free refills). I agree with bigOZ, don't go or don't pay, that's the only way Acapulco will think again about the silly prices and entrance fees they try to impose.

I asked the man on the gate the other day how much it was to use the facilities for a day and he replied "No Charge".
