We have rescued and adopted a young female dog 'Koot' in North Cyprus. Our TC neıghbour ın Girne kindly looks after her along with her other rescued dogs. Unfortunately this has not pleased our other TC neighbours. About 5 weeks ago a member of that family took 4 of the dogs including Koot and abandoned them allegedly near the power station close to Turtle beach. The culprit has admitted what he has done although quite was is the truth is unknown.

I fel so sad about this posting. I love my life here but realy struggle with the TC attitude towards animals. I hope you find your loved ones but fear the chances are slight.

What a horrible story - and quite unbelievable - and he had the nerve to admit it to you as well - sounds like a very mean person. We could always kidnap him and dump him in the Troodos mountains - see how he likes it....

Yes that is what happened. The culprit even took us to where he claims he dumped them. Just doesn't understand how we feel about our animals and dogs in particular. Perry, like your idea. Thinking of naming and shaming especially as family are local builders.

Thanks to all for keeping eyes open. Any info 0533 8776119

I can't see how he had the audacity to take you to the spot he claimed to have dumped them at.

Is'nt this tantamount to theft?

There is a house near to the electric station that has lots of dogs, it might be worth visting him to see if Koot has turned up there. If you are coming from Girne towards power station, there is a small boat on the left hand side of the road and opposite is a track, leading to his house. There are always a lot of dogs around the grounds of the power station so it could be worth going up there to check as well.

I will look out for him along this road. I hope you find them.

Thanks for advice. We have contacted the owner of that house. Mike, as you say has lots of dogs but not seen there. We have driven around the area but no trace as yet. Someone has said that they have seen several dead dogs on that road a little further out towards the karpaz. We will check that out tomorrow. Thanks for everyones support.

Was so sorry and disgusted to hear your story. Hope Koot is found soon. I visit KAR weekly and will keep eyes open when there.

I would name and shame them if I was you. Wish these people would start to respect the animals here, but cannot see that happening.
