Bizaarely I thought this was a joke...until I googled it and yes they do exist! Not sure you'd be able to get one in North Cyprus though, never seen them here. Oh and be prepared to pay a small fortune for anything bigger than a glorified coolbox!

Indeed you can purchase them here in W Yorks in the UK £300 to £400 - do not know whether these type of fridges can be purchased in N Cyprus though.

My guess is you must be looking for a bottled gas fridge..a camper van type ? ask somewhere that installs central heating...maybe I am wrong on this..if so sorry but good luck anyway.

I have used a gas fridge which I purchase many many years ago. It worked extremely well. The reason I bought it was that I had one in my caravan and it was great - so I got one for the house.

They are widely available in the UK - some areas (in the dales) still do not have mains gas and therefore depend on white goods which work on LPG.

If only someone would sell them over here it would be great!!!!

They operate on a pilot light so do not use a great deal of gas.

I think you will find that the Kozan Restaurant up in the hills above Karsiyaka uses gas fridges. They definitely donot have electricity. Worth speaking to them.

You can certainly buy Gas Cookers from Arcelik in Girne. Why not go in and see them, you never know, gas fridges might be available here or in Turkey.

my father in law has a weekend house in catalkoy in an area where they dont have electricity. they have a gas run fridge, i can ask him where they got it buthe has had it for years..

Yes Kozan have gas fridges but he cant remember the name of the shop or telephone number and cant find the business card at the restaurant. Its 10 mins from metahan border.



He said oh dooooo come up and see me and I can write a map, or I can drive you over there..........um.
