| The passport place told me that they would be closed this Friday as it was a national holiday. I don't know about the shops. |

| Basher I agree with you, however on the major public holidays, national days etc I have been caught out twice last year when superhome car park / debenhams was like a graveyard, so now I just steer round the major holidays rather than take a chance on a wasted visit. TonyE |

| Beats me. The banks are open today, but the local band marched around the village last night, but no one seemed to know why! The concensud was "early for May day" (Labour Day Sunday). They usually come round on the eve of Public Hols/National Days. ?? Geoff |
