Fly screen company GMC let us down

I want to share our experience with a company so you do not get caught like we did!



Gmc advertised on this forum for fly screens at a discounted price, we originally went with this company when Matt owned it (mr mosquito) and was very pleased with the service, we heard Matt returned to UK and Steve took the business over. We paid a deposit in February for further work to be carried out but unfortunately we are still waiting. The original timelines given were 10 days but we have not seen them since the first quotation and deposit paid, the only communication we have had is via text messages and emails and that is what we initiated, now we can not even do that as the number is unavailable and our emails do not receive answers.

If there is a reason for this then GMC please post your answer on here or contact me direct.

I am posting my experience on here because this is where the original advert was seen

another one to avoid is mr fly . we paid up front also and had to do do a fair bit of chasing, when they fitted them we was back in the UK . when we returned to our appartment we found the main patio door screens on the floor the runner tracks pissed as a newt and the quality garbidge.



can anyone recomend a good company as we will have to have ours replaced .

We also used Dogpen on the recommendation of a friend and found them to be pleasant, clean and tidy workers who did a great job and were in and out in approx 1hour. That was 2 years ago and we have had no problems.

They also came to do a repair to a window yesterday. It took about 1 hour and they didn't even charge me!

Had mine fitted 4 days after placing order. Can on time and I'm very happy with them. Paid half up front and balance on completion.

I used company call Tescomar based on esentepe road. On right about 1 mile from turnoff to Esentepe (at Army camp).

Priced £395 cheaper than developer wanted to charge during build.

We used Mark Jehan also, half up front, rest on completion, had them done 2 years ago and had no problems, nice clean job, good workmanship.

Many Thanks to Temomed for realising the comments were for the original company & not us.

GMC is the "company" which I "hounded" for his company registration number way back when they advertised at 30% discount.I asked if he was legit and warned readers of these gimmicks/discounts. If the company is registered you have the law on your side-if they are not registered ,not paying taxes ,not paying insurance-then the chances are they are here today and gone tomorrow WITH YOUR MONEY...sorry to have to say I told you so:( Please think before buying "cheap"-you will pay for it in the long run.

I thank you Mr Fly for the superb job you did at my house, quick, clean and with minimum disruption. You found solutions where we thought there was none, well done.



Will say again, your lads were a credit to you. Very consciencious and extremely polite. Not qualities that many teenagers have nowadays.

THE NEW MR FLY IS EXCELLENT

We have just had our screens refurbished by Mr Fly which is now operated by an English family, Grandma Fly (aka Janet) controlling the administration and customer contact.

They were first rate and should not be tarnished by their predecessor who, by the way now trades as Mr Bug.

I would like to advise you that GMC (whoever they are) are in no way related to Matt's company Mosquito Man. The company is still advertised and up and running as Mosquito Man.



I have recently had flyscreens made and fitted by Mosquito Man and have been more than happy with the price and service I received.

Chrsieh1 Apologies if that is the case i do not want to hurt any genuine company, i too was very happy with Matt and Steves (mr mosquito) work when they fitted some screens last year, that is why we were pleased When Steve turned up.

i can only share with you what Steve told me himself in Feb and that is Matt went back to uk and he has now taken over the company even offering to continue with the original guarantee should i have any issues...



The name GMC is what they are using on cyprus44 not necessarily business name......



Who now runs the company mr mosquito! I still need fly screens although some very good recommendations on here......

I can recommend seastone...I was recommended to use them by a friend who had some screens fitted at the lanterns...I was told when I ordered the screens that they were legal and the fitter was British....good luck

The screens (a lot of them) were fitted by Mr M 2 years ago. Some of them were good quality and well fitted, some were definitely not. Mr M came up twice, admitted they were not well fitted and tried to put them right. That's the last we heard from him. Two of the large sliding door screens fall out and we have just had to remove them completely. We were told that we could have one window fitted free for every recommendation we made. At the time we were happy with them. This was done with very bad grace and the smallest window in the house was done free. When we had the quotation Mr M said it would take a whole day at least to supply and fit. They were done in a matter of hours "because I am very busy" as a result some were badly fitted but we didn't discover this until some time later.

Can definitely recommend Seastone. Thet fitted our screens 3 weeks ago. Very good job ando reasonable prices.
