In fairness the ref had to take the linesmans word.

the lino could not possibly have seen the ball cross the line.

I agree.

How come World Cup cricket umpires, get 80% of their challenged decisions correct.

These unpires are "old boys". But they make very few errors. If football refs got their decisions challenged, they will either improve, or they will give up.

Come on Arsenal! It's the first time I've ever written that.

Maybe you will still be 3 points in front. But even if you only lose by 1 goal, we will be level on goal difference until next week.

Then next week, we may be ahead of you on goal difference! Do you know who you are playing next week, because I know who we are.

Seriously, I wouldn't even put £10 on you not winning the Premiership. But it's a bit of fun thinking about it.

Just imagine, Arsenal win 1 -0 and Man U get a couple sent off and a few minor injuries that rules those players out for about a week.

Come on Arsenal.

As a referee myself i know how difficult it is out there . Having said that they drum into you a simple rule..... you can only give it if you see it !! And then you have to be 100% sure ! They weren't that sure today were they ?? Those decisions will probably cost Tottenham a Champions League place for next year ! You cannot guess those sort of things , if you are not sure then don't give it !

There is no doubt an average Man U will side win the premiership this season, Chelsea had a very poor mid season and have just recently came back to form and as for Arsenal they will not get a better opertunity than this season to win the league but are not able to dig out results when it matters so its Man U but as far as them winning the champions league I think they will have to very lucky as Barcelona are a far better team and so is the spanish league

Well if Chelsea can go to the theatre of screams and get a result, its game on. Arsenal were the best team today, if they had played like that all year they would have been home and hosed by now.

Out of the 2, Chelsea will nick it! Time for Drogba and Co to turn on the heat. A nice new Bentley each if they do. Lets face it, MU are not that great, FA cup is about it really, as for Champions League, er, don't think so. Well done the Arse, nice to bring people back down to earth sometimes. Ferguson must be eating his recent words re Arsenal's incapabililties!

man u , played for the draw , they cant play that kind of football , as for ferguson eating his words , ( i dont think so ) wenger would love to be in his position , trouble with arsenal is they are not consistent , any betting man would have backed arsenal today , they had to show the fans that they can still compete with the big boys at home , fair play to them , but its another trophy less season for them , next season they will struggle to be in the top 5 ?

I hope arry is feeling a bit better. I bet Ferguson wishes he could swap his aged team complete for the Arsenal youngsters. He could perhaps half his wages bill, they only need to be taught how to defend outside the rules aided by the puppet referees and, with all the manipulation Man U achieve, such a team could even become known as "the invincibles"

Fergies comfort zone has gone. He slated Arsenal last week as losing it. That combined with Arsenal's recent results had a significant natural effect psychologically on Arsenal prior to this game. Nothing to do with playing the "big boys", which unfortunately for Arsenal, they could not do all season. But they pulled this one out of the bag and made the premiership a lot more interesting on the run up. Next season me thinks will be different. Big time spending, lessons learnt, Wenger still there. If I was a MU fan, I would be more prooccupied with MU's positioning at end of next season and not that of rival. We can only but wait and see.

Deputy !! hang on .......... " The Invincibles " were a one off ! No other premiership side will ever go unbeaten again . This current Arsenal team couldn't lace their boots ! Seaman, Cole ,Keown.Vieira,Lundberg, Gilberto ,Pires, Henry, Bergkamp ,Parlour ,Campbell, the list goes on !! You will never see such a talented side again .! One interesting inclusion is Gael Clichy , he is the only current Arsenal player to have won a medal !!! We played well today and should have beaten them comfortably , but as we have learnt this year football is a " funny old game " ! Yes maybe Owen should have had a penalty but then Vidic shouldn't have been on the field after playing pattercake and numerous other fouls. It was the right result and now Arsenal can only look back and think about the lost home points that cost us the Championship.

Arsenal deserved the three points today,as they were the best team.United where piss poor,as they have been for most of the season.I still say though, that it will go right down to the last game of the season,

Arrry. Sorry if I gave the impression that I was impuning the achievements of the invincibles. I was trying to make the point that Ferguson goes to any lengths to win things, does not care how that is achieved, and this is condoned by officialdom to the frustration of those who love the game not just Man U. It was inevitable that the invincibles would be beaten at some time, by dint of poor performance, or a team playing at the top of their game. What we got was a disgraceful display of thuggery from Man U with no action by the referee. Lundberg in particular, being small, suffered a battering. We will never know just how far the unbeaten record would have stretched had officials ensured fair play. An old fart like me can remember when Brian Clough with Nottingham Forest won great things but disciplined his players if they as much as frowned at the referee. Roy Keane was a class act in that team but once under the direction of Ferguson became a notorious thug.

Message 28 ...spot on ! If it hadn't have been for a dodgy penalty given by a more than dodgy referee ( Mike Riley ) that run would have gone on and on.If i remember rightly , it was the 8th penalty he had awarded to Man Utd at Old Trafford in just EIGHT appearances there !! Enough said !

Utd will win the Championship this year but only because of Arsenals poor home form . Next year should be interesting with all of the top three planning massive clear outs . And will Jose' be back ???

Clayton why don't you read my post ! I said Man Utd WILL win the title because of Arsenals crap home form !!Where am i concerning myself with Utd's form ? I don't give a stuff about Utd . Any team that wins the Premiership always have an excellent home record, that is why Arsenal will not win it this year. As Fergie says it's " Squeaky bum " time now ! If Chelski beat you next week they will have a better goal difference too ! It's building up to a tasty finish !

Man Utd get more than their fair share of refereeing decisions and if Chelsea are having a run so be it. The offside was tight against Spurs and you see them given every week and The Gomez mistake deserved a goal being given, Harry like Arsene needs a keeper asap.

Dare say if Chelsea winning vs Man Utd there will be 6/7/8 minutes of extra time, on the other hand 2/3 if they are losing - see it time and time again at Old Trafford.

Rather see the title go to Chelsea, not for their football style but out of my dislike for Ferguson.
