I have just noticed the 19 litre bottle in our water cooler is turning green again. This is the 2nd time this month it has happened, the first time we managed to get it back to the shop with some water in the bottom to let them see. They said they would alert Evsu to the problem! Anyone else experienced this? Chris

Not had any problems with Evsu turning green, but there has been a hint of chlorine in the water lately.

I'm no scientist, but surely, if the water is reasonably clean and pure why would it change colour in any light condition? It sounds like that this water has a high level of impurities or the containers have not been sterilised properly, I hope it's nothing more than common algae and nothing more serious.

Msg 6:Water turns green when there is algae in it The green in the water IS algae. I think it's the product of photosynthesis, some other primitive plant forms rely on the algae for this. It won't harm you, unless you swallow it.lol

Ok, I have just had a chat with a friend of mine, who works for a large pharmaceutical company, and he advises me that under no circumstances should algae be consumed as it has been related to serious liver disease. He tells me that, a clear indication that water contains significant and harmful levels of algae is if there is a visible blue / green discolouration within the water. Sunlight will speed up the process of making the algae visible in the water, so I guess the best thing to do, is not to drink any water which has a green or bluey colour to it.
