Having had one made which was undersized, followed by another one which had the screw holes made through the numbers, I have now discovered that the third attempt has two numbers transposed ! I would be grateful if somebody can direct me to someone capable of producing a serviceable number plate, preferably in or near to Alsancak. The place opposite the larger Starlings in Alsancak cannot/will not help and the shop which has had three attempts appears to be no longer or seldom open. Confined to barracks until I get a new plate or must learn to drive in a permanent sideways skid so that both number plates cannot be seen !

I have always used the place in that precinct next to the astro across from the petrol station. Not Alsancak I know but they do a really good job.

Kibris, many thanks for the prompt response. I will give it a whirl. Incidentally, a local, who claims to be in the know, has told me that when the government finally announces clarified instructions for road legal number plates it will include the necessity that the plates bear a government stamp or embossment. If this proves to be the case I think I can guess who will be paying the cost of the stamp !
