Well, another 2 hours of my life wasted queing at HSBC yesterday!!!! They had closed my savings account for some weird reason? After a lot of dialogue I opened a new account and then tried to pay some money in. Oh no they said, you cannot pay in as you will lose interest.......I want to pay in I said not withdraw! You will still lose interest you can only pay in on a certain date!!!! That was it! Last time I was here I qued in HSBC for 2 and a half hours they are CRAP! I walked down the road with my money and opened a new savings and current account with Turk Banksai ltd. I was in and out in 20 minutes...friendly, professional and good English speaking....my Turkish is Yavas Yavas coming along. nunu

...with the express machine you can do everything!!! pay money in...draw out...transfer money etc etc...and when you go online with internet banking... pay bills too...except your water bill!!! also, I paid for some stuff online recently and much more was 'taken' than the agreed amount...this happened on 3 occasions...watch out when buying stuff online as you agree one amount then they give you a 'bundle' which costs more!!! I complained to the bank via there telephone banking service, reported it all, went to the bank and signed the complaint... had to wait one hour...and got the whole lot back into my CC account...yes there counter service is terrible ...but online banking and the express machine are great!

hi there...well you purchase something at say 50ytl..then they add on to your purchase some other stuff that they 'bundle' into you purchase...suddenly you are billed for 80ytl or more....this was for PC sofware by the way.... this happened on 3 occasions and until you get your statement you have no idea...SO CHECK YOUR STATEMENTS... thats why I complained...the company you purchase from do nothing so the only way was to complain to the bank who dealt with it promptly. As with ANY purchase you make using your credit card...have a solid reason for a refund and get your money back!

I don't know why people hate HSBC so much ?? I use their internet banking for most transactions and have an ATM card for getting cash etc from the hole in the wall. I see loads of people sitting in the branch, why do they want to use the counter service anyway ??? Beats me,just get an ATM card !!!!

Well, you have to use the counter service when they don't give you a replacement ATM card when your old one runs out, yes happened to us last week! "Why didn't you just give us a new one?", "You didn't ask for one", enough said! Online is fine however their counter service is the worst I have had the misfortune to be associated with. We have now moved to Iktisat Bank, no waiting, separate department with 3 english speaking staff, good rates and service.

I really only use them for transferring money from the uk and a small savings account. Most of my collateral is with Creditwest who are excellent. One thing I have learnt very quickly over here is that if you don't ask, they will not volunteer a service !! I now assume nothing and so far (touch wood) I've got through ok.
