Can anybody recommend a good, reliable exterior house painter? We live in Lapta in a fairly standard 3 bedroomed house. We have been quoted amounts between £3000 and £6000!

Ridiculous in my opinion.

I also have a UK friend who needs a house built. Is it better to buy one already built or to buy the land and then speak to a reputable builder?

We also need a cat sitter living in during August (3 weeks - 4 cats)

Yes I agree that price is ridiculous.

Call Drew on 0533 849 6266 for an estimate. Highly recommended.

Perhaps circumstances do not allow them to DIY. Not everyone is capable of exterior painting, may not like going up ladders. Need I go on?

Then don`t gripe about the price of people who don`t mind going up a ladder in blistering heat.

The maths was done on this a while ago, but can't find the post.

Bottom line is, good quality silicon based paint in TAYF, 22tl for 2.5l

Say 10l per elevation = 350tl

Maybe another colour round the windows, say 10l = 88tl

Brushes, rollers say 100tl

even a ladder or two, say 350tl

A person to do the work and they will manage 1 elevation per day if you keep the occasional eye on them, plus say another couple of days for cutting in etc = 6 days x 150tl/day = 900tl.

I'll leave it to you to figure out where 3-6k comes from.

Clean and paint an elevation yourself every 2 days, taking off a day in between, or hire someone on a labour only basis to do it for an agreed day rate, and an agreed output from them.

What's the name of the external wall coating, sounds like "espirit" in Turkish and is similar to roughcast? And where can you get it?

Hi,

did your friend find a builder for his house?

We are currently having a villa build nr Esentepe which consists of 10 villa plots.

Although only 7 are taken

The land owner is signing deeds over to us within weeks and parcelisation is nearly complete.

Villas should be completed early new year.

Just a though as these will be very safe buy for whoever gets them as by the time the remaining 3 plots are

sold....title deeds will be signed over

Big Lou - as a matter of interest, how long did your PTPs take?

I don't think anyone should buy anything from Evergreen from what I've heard recently --Permanent Injunctions etc --- Has anyone heard anything on that subject?

I've certainly put on hold my request to Evergreen to build MY house

Someone give us the truth on Evergreen!!!
