Surely better to send it home freight and avoid the potential problems for some kind soul who's just trying to be helpful.

yes I do understand, I was just trying to be helpful and get the childrens stuff back to them asap. they have already had an estimate for freight. But if anyone was willing they could certainly examine all the contents.

as msg3 clearly stated , case can be unpacked , contents examined , then repacked , so if your brain still is disfunctional , when they get to check in and are asked , did you pack the case yourself , answer is YES , its a no brainer really , sometimes you do make the village idiot look like a post grad .

I don't think you'll get anyone to take a piece of luggage through an airport that doesn't belong to them. Far too risky.
