Hi everyone! i have read through the threads about the same subjects, but they only covered EU citizens and US citizens. My friend and I we are both from Hong Kong, according to Cyprus immigrant office, we dont need a visa to visit Republic of Cyprus.

our route is from istanbul -> Antalya, Antalya -> Lefkosa, Larnaca -> Athens

just wondering we are coming from turkey and landing at Lefkosa, if we would face any troubles at the Larnaca airport?? we have to take our flight from Larnaca to Athens, there is no flight from the northern cyprus to there either. please help us! we are having really tight budget cant afford to rebuy all the tickets.... :(

The attached link lists those countries requiring a visa to enter the Republic of Cyprus (RoC)

http://www.cyprusvisa.eu/countries-required-entry-visa-cyprus.html

However, whilst you may not need a visa, I think that in the eyes of immigration officials of the RoC (South Cyprus) they may view you as having arrived via an illegal point of entry (Ercan airport), so you could have problems.

My advice would be to talk to RoC immigration to confirm whether you will be able to fly out of Larnaca having landed at Ercan.

Good luck

thanks so much! i have read some cases they are Americans had no problems landing at lefkosa and leaving from Larnaca. well they said they had been more questioning than the normal tourists and some dirty looks.... but still they managed to get on the plane to leave the country...

i have already wrote to both ministry office and tourism organsation of cyprus. still waiting their reply...

i wonder if it would be too risky for us, as non-EU citizens, non-American citizens to take this risk???

That is only a decision that you can make.

Good luck

@ msg 1, Nikkoko: I wish you many safe flights and hope to read much more about your travels!

P.S. You call yourself a "Hong Kong citizen" in the title of the thread. But Hong Kong citizens don't exist. "Hong Kong Permanent Resident" is the legal status for those who have the right of abode in Hong Kong.

oh thats what i meant. sorry about the confusion.

let me put everything tidy a bit! be reader friendly *desperate for help!*

I'm flying from Antalya, Turkto Lefkosa (North),

Leaving from Larnaca (South) to Athens, Greece

Wonder if i would face any hold back stopping me from catching my flight to athens at Larnaca Airport immigration?

more background information:

if anyone knows about this stuff could make make a judgement! PLEASE!

* I dont need a visa travel to Cyprus and European countries

* I dont get my passport stamped travel within European countries

to prove i have no intention to be illegal immigriant:

* I have a valid student visa and have been studying in UK for 3 years

* we are going on a 1-month long trip,

and I have my entire trip flights and hostels booked and references ready

i think it might cause some trouble due to political issues between Turkey, Cyprus, and Greece

* I have about 3 times of in-and-out Turkey stamp in my passport
