I have replied many times to people on this subject and no one has ever come back to me. Again, the offer for proof of TTD being given to non citizens recently in our area can be given by our Company to any one wishing to visit our Offices and see the deeds.

Doesn't that exempt foreigners, who can only buy one donum?

Just because someone got PTP/Kochan on the land before is no guarantee, whatsoever, that the following foreign buyer will.

Who, but an idiot would take that chance, unless the 'No Kochan - no money!' rule will be applied to the 'Contract of Sale' and signed by ALL parties?

Only a Turkish Cypriot can be assured of receiving the Kochan on pre 1974 Turkish Title property - NO foreigner can!

What does 50% build permission mean?

Please keep up "Tenakoutou", foreigners can by more than one donum but only have a single property on it.

The whole rule is rubbish... My parents are TC's and as far as National Sevice is concerned in the strange little world of the TRNC, I am also classed as a TC, even though I was born in the UK and have a UK passport. However, when I tried to buy more than 1 Donum a few years ago, I was told I couldn't because I wasn't a TC citizen. So I told them to stick it where the sun don't shine and went and bought a holiday home in trouble free Florida and looking back now, it was the one and only favour the TRNC had ever done for me and looking back now, it was a blessing in disguise.

When it comes to wanting £4000 for a national service wavier they are all hands out begging but when it comes to buying land it was a different story.

Scoty, 50% build means you can build on 50% of the land. That means, if required, 1,500 square metres would be the maximum build allowance.

The actual law is that a foreign national can purchase five donums, PROVIDING that there is a construction on it, and only one construction. If empty land, then only one donum. However, for this two donums, you can have two names on the kocan, but not husband and wife. This is direct from the ministry of interior this week.

Sideways/Msg 8:

If demand increases, or do to any other whim, the government are highly liable to replace the 1 donum restriction in law.

For a *foreigner, apart from the huge risk of buying pre '74 Turkish Title property, even if the buyer is lucky, in the time it takes to be granted PTP [Permission to Purchase], the law could again be amended - that is what any potential *buyer should be aware of.

Before even contemplating property purchase, any potential foreign buyer should consult the [FREE!] services of HBPG [Home Buyers Pressure Group].
