We went to Chopsticks, in street opposite main Post Office, Girne last week and had great chinese food, all freshly cooked. Don't know if they had spare ribs but definitely worth a try. At lunchtime they don't charge for rice or noodles, even better!

Without doubt the best ribs i have had/in the TRNC were at the Farmhouse in Alsencak. however Tony and Ruth have now closed but will be opening the Waterfront at the Celebrity on November the fifth. And i for one wish this great couple all the best in the world.

I've had very few bad dining experiences over the 10 years I've been coming here. I do agree though about St Tropez being a class act. The standard here is generally very good in my opinion and it depends on what you are looking for.

Spare ribs with sweet BBQ sauce! The Hit. You get them in THE VERANDA seaside restaurant in Karaoglanoglu (opposite GAU junction), summer time outside, winter time next to the chimney. Give them a call as they dont have them always.

Copy & Paste:

The Veranda Restaurant, that has had the same location for many years, welcomes its guests with its grand, seaside veranda. The menu offered is Cypriot and European, and there are seating possibilities for both winter and summer. The indoor area is cozy and warm due to the open fireplace, and offers a spectacular view due to the large glass front.

Kitchen Style: A La Carte - Cypriot

Opening Hours: 11:00-24:00 / Open 7 days a week

Credit Cards: Accepted

Parking: Available

For Reservation: 0392 822 20 53

Stewy, if you like a curry try the Taj Mahal opposite the boaty looking restaurant (Capitano). Very very informal dining but superb curry and huge portions.

Sorry to be slightly off topic.

I curtailed my eating out in NC this last visit after rumours that food poisoning was rife due to refridgerators being turned off to save money. Spoke to one person who ended up in hospital. Dr told her it was eperdemic at the moment.
