| According to a post on the TRNC Villa owners site a couple who have a house in Ozankoy were searched on landing at Larnaca airport. They were detained for several hours and had their original title deeds taken off them. They were given photocopies of the documents. Just a reminder to not carry any documentation relating to your purchasers if travelling via South Cyprus. |

| Hi Bradus I came through the Nicosia crossing the other week with my contract in my suitcase. It was an oversight, I did not plan to do this, but I guess I was in holiday mode. The border police searched my suitcase, they even turned over my contract but missed it's significance. They missed it because they clearly were not looking for it, they were looking for people carrying excessive amounts of cigarettes. I was stupid and lucky, I wouldn't recommend it but for me it was quite telling to see what their real priorities were. If they were told to look for contracts they would have easily found it, it wouldn't have been hard. |
