There has been a white English Bull Terrier hanging round Mardo's in Alsancak today. It has been taken away for it's own safety, as we were concerned that the local children teasing it might make it run on to the main road. It is female, looks quite young and seems well nourished!

If you have lost this dog please call 0533 835 6348 to arrange her collection.

Thank you!

I work in the area, and me and my customer could see it heading this way again today.

This is why my customer took the dog out of harms way..... It doesn't look like a stray, so hopefully we can find her owners and get them reunited!

I think there is a local who breeds this type of dog. He lives about three quarters of the way up the road towards Ilgas in a bungalow somewhere on the LHS. The dogs used to be kept in squalor I believe and the female made to give birth continually until she dropped. It's possibly one of his that has done a runner or has become supurfluous to requirements and dumped.

I hope you're not right, as this doesn't bode well for a loving owner showing up, however it sounds more than likely! What a shame, I'm not really a doggy person, but she was a really sweet thing.... Lovely temperament, even in the face of extreme teasing and spitefulness from the local children!

They are a wonderful breed of dog, very affectionate and comedians. If I was over there I would not hesitate in taking her in.Uunfortunately many 'locals' are petrified of them.

I did go out tonight to find 2 dead dogs, 2 cats and a beautiful GS just walking on the the bypass with a collar on. Then on the way to Cathalkoy whatever a lovely GS tied to a tree, and many more walking the streets. Can I give you you dispose of your dogs this message read this

A PET'S TEN COMMANDMENTS:

1. My life is likely to last 10-15 years. Any separation from you is likely to be painful.

2. Give me time to understand what you want of me.

3. Place your trust in me. It is crucial for my well-being.

4. Don't be angry with me for long and don't lock me up as punishment. You have your work, your friends, your entertainment, but I have only you.

5. Talk to me. Even if I don't understand your words, I do understand your voice when speaking t

6. Be aware that however you treat me, I will never forget it.

7. Before you hit me, before you strike me, remember that I could hurt you, and yet, I choose not to bite you.

8. Before you scold me for being lazy or uncooperative, ask yourself if something might be bothering me. Perhaps I'm not getting the right food, I have been in the sun too long, or my heart might be getting old or weak.

9. Please take care of me when I grow old. You too, will grow old.

10. On the ultimate difficult journey, go with me please. Never say you can't bear to watch. Don't make me face this alone. Everything is easier for me if you are there, because I love you so.

i fear that if a local is breeding them and from experience of knowing how some of them treat them, ie being kept tied up all day without human company, it would be the worst scenario to keep EBT's, they are a people dog who needs human company all the time.

Many years ago I had a EBT in TRNC and some expat brought over a bitch and wanted to breed with my dog. I refused as I did not want the offspring to get into the wrong hands. I just dread the thought that this breed has got into the wrong hands.

I always say there are actually 11 Commandments.

11. When my time is up, and I have to be put to sleep permanently, please let it be in my own home, surrounded by familiar smells and sounds. Not in a noisy, frightening surgery. Sit on the floor with me and cuddle me until I go.

Not English, but a Greek Cypriot Bull Terrier has gone missing a few days ago. He has a chip on his shoulder and a tag. Answers to the name of GR. Last seen roaming in the Polis are chasing another Greek Cypriot Cow Terrier named Oracle. If anybody sees them, please don't shoot them, they are the original Leyla ile Mecnun. If anybody spots them please let me know.
