Just a quick reminder that the afternoon market is tomorrow at the Acmenya Restaurant in Alsancak.



Turn off at the golden lady statue and first left (as if you are going to Riverside), and its the second restaurant along on the right. Loads of parking space in the field next door to the restaurant.



Special lunch time menu, 1 meal for 10tl & 2 for 15tl !!! Or Meze buffet for 8tl. All drinks are at a reasonable price.



And stalls are inside & out, so don't worry about the weather.....



Stalls include Greeting cards, dvds, karaoke discs, electrical goods (all new from the UK), Good quality second hand clothes, woodwork, pashminas & scarves, bric-a-brac, handbags, homemade bread & cakes, and some house clearance.

See you there, 1-4pm. Food starts at 12.00

Have just heard, we have 4 new stalls tomorrow........one is a house clearance, not sure about the other 3.!!!!!



If anyone else would like a stall, just leave a message on here, and its 10tl per pitch/table.

I hope there will be a board on the main road at the Golden Lady indicating to people who don't read this board that there is a "Market On Today" with a big arrow. If you don't start getting more customers to visit - English, Turkish, Cypriot and anyone else who is passing - stallholders are going to start losing heart and then your only other form of motivating the stallholders will be to drop the price since there'll be only the bar and restaurant taking any money.



Sorry to sound so blunt but I hear complaints every week that are probably not being fed back to you. You need to help the stallholders in some way, afterall they're the ones who are keeping your market going and helping to raise the profile of your restaurant. if you want to maintain their commitment to you you have to do something for them in return - either through advertising and getting more people in and buying, or by lowering the stall price so that more will come to you and keep it looking like a market

I hear what you are saying, but we get a fair few customers through the doors every week....... I think its going really well. It will never be a market like Chateau Lambousa, but more a social event, where people can meet up and have a drink & a chat. Or a cheap lunch.



Ali has promised us more advertising, we live in hope !!!



10tl is only £4, thats cheap compared to most markets around, and you are in lovely clean surroundings. With clean toilets etc.

I'm sure people will come and go (stall-holders), but thats to be expected. If people are not selling, maybe they should look at what they are selling and try to come up with something different that will appeal to a wider spectrum of customers.

Personally I think this market is here to stay, but your comments will be passed on to Lyn who is the market organiser.
